Amber Heard was reportedly assessed by a psychologist who has claimed she ‘takes on loved ones’ personalities’.

The actress was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder (BPD) and histrionic personality disorder by Dr Curry, who was brought in by her ex-husband, Johnny Depp, as a part of his defamation trial against her.

Apparently, the psychologist came to this conclusion after two direct evaluations with Heard that took place between 10 and 17 December 2021. It’s believed they spent 12 hours together in total.

As well as using these 12 hours to assess the star, Dr Curry reportedly looked at Heard’s previous psychological assessments.

Supposedly, the Aquaman star took the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI) test.

Dr Curry told the courtroom on April 26 that people with BPD can ‘take on the personality of the people they want to be around’.

She went on to add that people who have this condition are ‘concerned with image, attention-seeking and prone to externalising blame, a lot of suppressed anger that may explode outwards’.

Dr Curry then described how people with BPD are often ‘afraid of being abandoned,’ which may result in ‘desperate attacks’.

The psychologist explained: “All of it is like pistons of an engine, kind of firing off and igniting one another. But when somebody is afraid of being abandoned, by their partner or by anybody else in their environment and they have this disorder, they’ll make desperate attacks to prevent that from happening.

“And those desperate attempts could be physical aggression, it could be threatening, it could be harming themselves, but these are behaviours that are very extreme and very concerning to the people around them.”

Elsewhere in the trial, Dr Curry brought up histrionic personality disorder and how people who have this condition can make up stories which portray themselves as the ‘victim’.

She added that both psychological conditions are basically ‘two sides of the same coin’.
