Anonymous, who has declared a ‘cyber war’ on Russia, reportedly ‘hacked into the country’s TV and broadcasted the truth about the Ukraine frontline’.

The group’s aim was apparently to hack into Pro-Kremlin TV stations so they could reveal that the attacks aren’t the ‘special operations’ President Vladimir Putin claims they are.

Reportedly, the country’s citizens, from Moscow and St Petersburg, have been prevented from seeing the suffering that has been caused and restrictions have been applied to social media platforms.

When the computer experts apparently managed to gain control of the stations, they reportedly broadcasted images of destroyed residential buildings as well as bomb explosions.

Supposedly, they also aired viral footage of a father tearfully saying goodbye to his wife and child as they fled the country.

So far, it isn’t clear how long Anonymous reportedly managed to ‘hack Russia’s TV networks’.

Last week, the group took to Twitter and made an announcement, stating that they are against Russia.

The tweet read: “The Anonymous collective is officially in cyber war against the Russian government.”

According to reports, the hackers managed to take down the Kremlin-backed TV channel RT – which is available to watch in Britain – just 30 minutes later, due to its ‘propaganda’.

After claiming to be behind the move, the group’s followers took to Twitter and praised them for ‘taking action’.

One said: “I’m glad to see that someone is taking action against the Russian Federation. We all stand with Ukraine and all my thoughts and prayers for the Ukrainian citizens that go through this unnecessary war.”

“Once again, Anonymous are the heroes this world often doesn’t deserve, but needs,” added another.
