An arrest has been made in connection with the death of Robert De Niro’s grandson.
De Niro, 79, is a highly influential actor who has left a mark on the world of cinema with his iconic roles in films like Taxi Driver, Goodfellas, and The Irishman.
The Heist star is also the father of seven children and grandfather of four.
Recently, De Niro was hit with the tragic news that his grandson, Leandro De Niro Rodriguez, has died at just 19 years old.

The teenager’s passing was confirmed in a heartbreaking Instagram statement through his mother, Drena, who penned: “My beautiful sweet angel. I have loved you beyond words or description from the moment I felt you in my belly. You have been my joy my heart and all that was ever pure and real in my life.
“I wish I was with you right now. I wish I was with you. I don’t know how to live without you but I’ll try to go on and spread the love and light that you so made me feel in getting to be your mama.
“You were so deeply loved and appreciated and I wish that love alone could have saved you I’m so sorry my baby, I’m so sorry @carlosmare. Rest in Peace and Eternal Paradise my darling boy.”

Drena has since claimed that her son had died from a suspected overdose after allegedly being sold fentanyl-laced pills.
While Leandro’s death has been treated as a suspected overdose due to the discovery of substances and drug paraphernalia near his body, the official cause of death has not yet been released by the city medical examiner.
However, it has been reported by various sources that a woman has now been arrested in connection with the teen’s death.
Law enforcement sources reveal that a 20-year-old woman allegedly sold drugs to Leandro before his tragic demise.
The arrest reportedly took place during an undercover operation conducted by the NYPD, Drug Enforcement Administration, and Homeland Security.
The woman has allegedly been federally charged with the distribution of narcotics and is expected to be arraigned in Manhattan federal court.
Leandro, following in the footsteps of his mother and grandfather, pursued a career in acting.
His acting credits include movies such as The Collection in 2005 and Cabaret Maxime in 2018.

Following the devastating loss, De Niro has expressed his deep distress over the passing of his beloved grandson.
In a statement, he expressed gratitude for the condolences received and requested privacy for the family to grieve the loss of Leandro.
De Niro said: “I’m deeply distressed by the passing of my beloved grandson Leo.
“We’re greatly appreciative of the condolences from everyone.
“We ask that we please be given privacy to grieve our loss of Leo.”
