Britney Spears has angrily responded to Millie Bobby Brown’s wish to play her in a biopic.

It all started when the Stranger Things star was promoting her latest Netflix movie, Enola Holmes 2.

This is the sequel to Enola Holmes, which topped Netflix’s film streaming charts in 2020.

In the two movies, Brown plays the younger sister of Sherlock Holmes (played by Henry Cavill) who embarks on solving her own mysteries.

Appearing on The Drew Barrymore Show, Brown joined the host for a round of red light confessions, which is when the pair ask each other questions when stopped at a red light.

Towards the end of the segment, Barrymore asked Brown what’s on her ‘bucket list’ as a filmmaker and a producer.

The Godzilla actress responded: “I want to play a real person and I think for me, Britney [Spears] would be.”

When Barrymore asked why she would want to play the pop star, Brown replied: “I think her story, first of all, resonates with me.

“Just growing up in the public eye and watching her videos, watching her interviews of her when she was younger, I see the scramble for words.

“I don’t know her but when I look at pictures of her, I feel I could tell her story in the right way and hers only.”

Brown mentioned similarities to Barrymore too, who was also a child star who appeared in movies such as E.T. and Firestarter.

Despite her comments and admiration for Spears coming across as well intended, it seems the ‘Toxic’ singer did not see it that way.

In a lengthy Instagram post where she details her relationship with her parents, the ‘Womanizer’ singer seemingly makes reference to Brown saying she wants to make a film about her.

Spears wrote: Good news, good news!!! Still breathing… it’s funny the same two people who gave me life are the same exact 2 people who took it away… but guess what!!!

“I’m alive and I’m breathing again!!! Yeah I know I’ve posted too much this week on Instagram … kinda fun though!!! Now that I’m breathing… I have time… it’s different!!! I like it!!!

“I hear about people wanting to do movies about my life… dude I’m not dead!!! Although it’s pretty f***ing clear they preferred me dead.

“I guess my family is going to lock their doors now!!!

“Either way… I just want to say hi and share these fabulous doors!!! I did kinda post too much this week… I’m embarrassed!!!

“I get it… oh well!!! Have a good day!!!”

While Brown is yet to address Spears’ statement, let’s hope it doesn’t impact her one day playing the pop star as it is clearly a dream role of hers.
