CeeLo Green fans are only just realising that the singer is Gnarls Barkley.
The ‘Crazy’ singer, whose real name is Thomas DeCarlo Callaway-Burton, is known for hit tracks such as ‘F*** You’ – which had a censored alternate release called ‘Forget You’.
CeeLo also appeared in four seasons of the reality TV singing competition The Voice as a judge and coach.
While he may be a household name, he’s been forced to clarify to fans that he’s actually one-half of Gnarls Barkley.

Gnarls Barkley is an American soul duo which is comprised of CeeLo and Brian Joseph Burton, who is better known by his stage name Danger Mouse.
The pair scored a worldwide hit with the song ‘Crazy’, which reached the top five in twenty countries.
Gnarls Barkley would end up releasing two albums: ‘St. Elsewhere’ (2006) and ‘The Odd Couple’ (2008).
As the song ‘Crazy’ has recently been trending on TikTok, it’s led to people discussing Gnarls Barkley, with one mindblown person saying: “CEELO IS GNARLES. GNARLES IS CEELO. WHAAAAT?!?”
Another added: “Did you guys know that Gnarls Barkley and CeeLo Green are the same person?! I had no idea and I am SHOOOOK.”
“Had no idea Gnarls Barkley was CeeLo Green,” commented somebody else.
Responding to both the trend and the apparent shock surrounding the fact he’s one-half behind the popular track, CeeLo said on the social media platform: “What’s up this is yours truly CeeLo Green, some people call me Gnarls.
“I have been checking out the TikTok ‘Crazy’ riff challenge. Some of it has been great, some of it has been funny, some of it has been not so good, but I love it all just the same.”
The singer went on to add: “Keep up the work, you guys are so cool. I’m glad you guys still love this song so many years later.”

Many people have taken to the comments and said they’ve also been left mind-blown that people hadn’t put two and two together.
“Omg the fact that nobody knew that!!” one person said.
A second wrote: ” Props for spanning millennial and gen z. It says so much. I can’t think of anyone my age who isn’t intimately aware of this correlation though lol.”

Little has been heard from Gnarls Barkley in the past few years but back in 2020, CeeLo updated fans on the duo’s plans for a third album – which had been halted due to the pandemic.
He told Illinois Entertainer: “I cannot wait to get back to work.”
Prior to the pandemic halting the pair’s plans, CeeLo told DJBooth: “We have already started on a new [Gnarls Barkley] album.
“We’re halfway in and we have some overtures from the other projects that may not have stood the test of time, we don’t know yet.”
