James Bond Favourite Aaron Taylor-Johnson Met ‘Soulmate’ Wife When He Was A Teenager And She Was 42
Aaron Taylor-Johnson, the actor currently the favourite to be the next James Bond, met his ‘soulmate’ wife when she was 42 and he was a teenager.
Since Daniel Craig announced that 2021’s No Time to Die would be his last time in the role, rumours have been rife over who is next in line for the iconic role.
And currently, it looks as though Taylor-Johnson, 33, is the favourite to become the next iteration of 007.
But now, the actor – best known for playing Dave Lizewski in Kick-Ass (2010) and Pietro Maximoff in Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015) – is in the headlines for another reason.
Taylor-Johnson has opened up about the age gap with his wife, but people aren’t sure about what he’s had to say…

As per the Puck report from Matthew Belloni, producers are keen on making the Bullet Train star the series’ seventh Bond actor.
“And, obviously, the granddaddy of casting coups: James Bond,” he writes. “The Aaron Taylor-Johnson rumours are true – he sat with producer Barbara Broccoli, and the meeting went well, per sources.”
Belloni goes on: “While Taylor-Johnson fits the bill – great actor, British, fits the younger direction the Broccolis want to go, accomplished but not particularly famous – he’s about to be a much bigger star.
“If Sony’s Spider-Man spinoff Kraven the Hunter or Universal’s Ryan Gosling two-hander The Fall Guy works, Taylor-Johnson might end up, ironically, too famous to take on Bond.”
An alleged insider tells The Sun: “Aaron went for a screen test to be the next Bond in September and producers and Barbara loved him.
“He is now one of the frontrunners.”
And now, according to new reports from The Sun, he ‘has been formally offered the opportunity to play James Bond’.
Taylor-Johnson recently told Numero magazine he found it ‘charming and wonderful that people see me in that role’.
“I take it as a great compliment,” he added.
However, it might not be time to get excited just yet, as a production insider from Eon has told BBC there is ‘no truth in the rumours’.
But following the (potentially) exciting career update, people are turning the magnifying glass onto Taylor-Johnson’s personal life.
And his age-gap relationship with his wife has left the internet divided.
One writes: “Definitely uncomfortable. If this was reversed there would not be as many supporting comments…”
Another agrees: “Imagine if it was a bloke and they met when she was 12 and this happened!! Different opinions then, I bet!!”
A third questions: “Wonder how many times he has been referred to as her son?”
Taylor-Johnson’s breakout role was in the John Lennon biopic Nowhere Boy (2009).
It was directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson, 57, whom he married three years after the movie premiered.
At the premiere of the film, the pair announced their engagement and they got married in 2012.
They have since welcomed two daughters, Wylda Rae, born in 2010, and Romy Hero, in 2012.
Sam Taylor-Johnson spoke out about the pairing in an interview with Larry King.
She responded: “I feel like it’s one of the last taboos. I feel like everyone comes at me with it in most interviews.
“It’s interesting because, like you said, I’m sure people don’t ask you often but they do ask me. It makes people feel like they should have something to say and have an opinion on it.”
Aaron Taylor-Johnson has also shared supportive words about the relationship on an Instagram post of the pair renewing their vows.

He captioned the post: “Yesterday was the most beautiful day, summer solstice, our 10th anniversary… we renewed our vows to one another and confessed our love in front of our nearest and dearest friends and family it was a celebration of love and joy!
