Authorities Issue Bombshell Update In Rob Reiner Case As Shocking New Details Emerge
US authorities have issued a shocking update on the murder case of Rob Reiner and his wife, as they have released new details.
The legendary Hollywood director and his wife, Michele Singer, were tragically found dead at their LA home on Sunday (December 14).
The couple was married for 36 years prior to their brutal death, after originally meeting on the set of When Harry Met Sally…, directed by Reiner himself.
Tributes to the pair have poured in on social media, as fans and colleagues collectively shared their heartbreak.
‘I am horrified’
Author Stephen King, a friend of the two who also worked with Reiner, said: “I’m horrified and saddened by the death of Rob Reiner and Michele.
“Wonderful friend, political ally, and brilliant filmmaker (including two of mine).
“Rest in peace, Rob. You always stood by me.”
Another friend of the legend added: “Rob Reiner was an American icon who, through his art and activism, held a mirror up to American culture.
“His talent, humor, activism, and patriotism will be missed. Our heart breaks at the senseless loss of our friend.”
Donald Trump slammed after ‘disgraceful’ post
In contrast, President Donald Trump stood out among the tributes, after people slammed the statement he released upon hearing of the couple’s tragic passing.
In the post, Trump said: “A very sad thing happened last night in Hollywood.
“Rob Reiner, a tortured and struggling, but once very talented movie director and comedy star, has passed away, together with his wife, Michele, reportedly due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, sometimes referred to as TDS.”
He added: “He was known to have driven people CRAZY by his raging obsession of President Donald J. Trump, with his obvious paranoia reaching new heights as the Trump Administration surpassed all goals and expectations of greatness, and with the Golden Age of America upon us, perhaps like never before.”
People on X (formerly Twitter) have called the President a ‘disgrace,’ noting just how insensitive the post is amid the tragedy.
Rob Reiner speaks about his children
Rob and Michelle shared three children together, Jake, Nick, and Romy.
In an interview with Piers Morgan before his death, Rob spoke about the love he had for his children.
The director said: “It’s the cliché, we love all our children, even the bad ones.”
His son, Nick, 32, has previously spoken out about his struggles with mental health and addiction.
In a 2016 interview with People, he noted that he was first sent to rehab at the age of 15.
He said: “That made me who I am now, having to deal with that stuff.
“Now, I’ve been home for a really long time, and I’ve sort of gotten acclimated back to being in Los Angeles and being around my family.
“But there was a lot of dark years there.”
Who is Nick Reiner?
Nick has now been charged with the murder of his parents, but the authorities have released a further shocking update.
After he was arrested on suspicion of murder yesterday (December 16), district attorney Nathan Hochman said: “Rob Reiner was a brilliant actor and director, an iconic force in our entertainment industry for decades.
“His wife, Michel Singer Reine, was an equally iconic photographer and producer.
“Their loss is beyond tragic. We will commit ourselves to bringing their murderer to justice.”
Prosecutors confirmed yesterday that they will file the charges including two counts of first degree murder with a special circumstance of multiple murders, and the special allegation that he used a dangerous weapon, which was a knife.
It’s been alleged that the 32-year-old slashed his parents throats while they were in bed.
Major update
Others sources have suggested that he had an argument with his father the night before his death, and that he had been found acting strangely.
But in a bombshell update, authorities stated that he could face the death penalty.
District attorney Hochman suggested that a death penalty sentence could be on the cards.
