Erika Kirk Reveals Why She’s Been Smiling So Much Since Husband Charlie’s Death
Erika Kirk has spoken out after users online claimed she has been ‘smiling’ too much since the death of her husband, Charlie Kirk.
It’s been over a month (September 10) since the MAGA activist was fatally shot in the neck on a university campus in Utah.
The FBI revealed the identity of the alleged assassin on September 12, after a 33-hour manhunt, as 22-year-old Tyler Robinson.
The suspect is a Utah resident and was aware that the MAGA activist was coming to his state long before the shooting unfolded.
Kirk’s memorial was held at State Farm Stadium in Arizona on September 21, where it was estimated that over 100,000 people attempted to queue up outside to pay their respects.

The service featured tributes from President Trump, Vice President JD Vance, along with video montages of Kirk’s career highlights and previously unseen footage from the day of his assassination.
Erika gave a lengthy tribute to her late husband during the ceremony, where she could be seen both crying and smiling while recalling happy memories.
Now, people on the internet are calling out the widow for ‘smiling too much’ following the death of her husband, having made numerous public appearances since his memorial.
The mom-of-two appeared to be smiling as she made a rare appearance on her late husband’s podcast, while she spoke about being the newly appointed CEO of Turning Point USA, an organization founded by Kirk when he was 18.
Some viewers of the clip suggested that Erika appeared ‘too happy.’
The 36-year-old responded by stating that there is ‘no linear blueprint for grief,’ after being criticized not only by users online, but also by fellow conservative commentator Candace Owens.

Owens has publicly questioned Erika’s behavior following Kirk’s death, after she allegedly participated in photoshoots and podcast appearances.
Kirk added: “One day you’re collapsed on the floor crying out the name Jesus in between labored breaths.
“The next you’re playing with your children in the living room, surrounded by family photos, and feeling a rush of something you can only attempt to define as divinely planted and bittersweet joy as a smile breaks through on your face.”
The devastated widow added: “They say time heals. But love doesn’t ask to be healed. Love asks to be remembered.”
Addressing the unpredictability of grief, she said: “I carry my Charlie in every breath, in every ache, and in every quiet act of day-to-day living as I attempt to relearn what that rhythm will be.”
Kirk leaves behind his 36-year-old wife, and their two young children.
