Jennifer Lawrence Told Robert De Niro To ‘Go Home’ During Her Wedding
Jennifer Lawrence has opened up about why she told Robert De Niro to leave her wedding.
Lawrence, 33, and De Niro, 80, are two of the biggest actors working today and have starred in multiple films together: 2012’s Silver Linings Playbook, 2013’s American Hustle, and 2015’s Joy.
They also appear to have a picture-perfect Hollywood friendship.
However, Lawrence has revealed that she kicked De Niro out of her wedding – for a rather scandalous reason!

In 2019, Lawrence married art gallery director Cooke Maroney in a ceremony in Rhode Island.
The pair met in 2018, became engaged in February 2019, and tied the knot just eight months later, in October of the same year.
Since then, the couple has welcomed their first child, Cy, in February 2022.
Her son’s unusual name is in honour of the American artist Cy Twombly.
And this week, The Hunger Games actress spoke on the red carpet with E! News while attending the Golden Globes.
She revealed all the behind-the-scenes secrets about her wedding.
But it seems Lawrence didn’t really enjoy the marital process, even joking that being a bride was ‘awful’.
“It’s so stressful. You’re not having fun. You’re just like, ‘Is that person having fun?'” Lawrence told the outlet.
She went on to say: “I’ll never forget, I was freaking out about the guests being cold.
“And all of my friends were lying they’re like, ‘Nobody’s cold, nobody’s cold, everything’s fine, everything’s fine’.”
In the end, Lawrence’s mother, Karen, gave up on the charade and hit her with a harsh truth.
“My mom was like, ‘It’s freezing out there, your grandmother almost died’,” Lawrence laughed.
The Rhode Island wedding was hosted at the Belcourt of Newport, a stunning mansion designed by world-renowned American architect Richard Morris Hunt, and inspired by the hunting lodge of France’s King Louis XIII’s decadent Versailles.
Needless to say, there was a star-studded guest list, including big names like Adele, Amy Schumer, Kris Jenner, Emma Stone, Ashley Olsen, Nicole Richie, Joel Madden, Cameron Diaz, and Sienna Miller.
But it was De Niro’s attendance on the big day that ended up causing some issues for Lawrence – so much so that she actually asked the Hollywood icon to leave!

“I looked over and I saw Bob, who doesn’t know anybody and he’s kind of wandering around, and I immediately was like, ‘No, this isn’t what he wants to be doing. I don’t want him here’,” Lawrence explained.
“So I went over and whispered, I was like, ‘Go home’, and he was nice,” Lawrence said.
“He like talked to my parents and was polite but I was like, ‘Go’.”
Lawrence even admitted that she ‘genuinely’ felt ‘better’ after De Niro’s departure!
Yikes.
