A woman who grew up in the Playboy Mansion from the age of 11 has described it as a ‘weird’ place.

Playboy magazine’s founder and editor-in-chief, Hugh Hefner, purchased the property in 1971.

Shortly after Hefner’s death in 2017, stories about what happened in the iconic mansion started to emerge.

Former attendees have alleged there were unprotected s**ual encounters with the former Playboy editor.

While others have claimed there were a number of drug-related incidents that happened there too.

Now in the Channel 4 documentary, Secrets of Playboy, one person has described what growing up at the Playboy Mansion was really like.

Jennifer Saginor, 51, was 11 years old when she moved into the residence alongside her father, Mark Saginor, who was Hefner’s personal doctor otherwise known as ‘Dr Feelgood’.

In the documentary, Saginor recalled visiting the mansion for the first time at six years old, and said it seemed like a ‘magical kingdom’.

While there, Hefner’s butlers would take care of her.

This included dropping her off at school in limousines, taking her to see exotic animals in the Playboy zoo, accompanying her to rollerskating parties, and letting her eat as many sweets as she wanted in the games room.

However, as Saginor grew up, she claimed to start noticing the dark side of the Playboy Mansion.

In the documentary, she said (via The Daily Star): “It’s taken me a long time to unravel what I experienced growing up and how I feel.”

Saginor also spoke about having a sense of loyalty to Hefner and the ‘inner circle’ due to being initiated into it at such a young age.

She added: “I didn’t want to break that loyalty because I knew there would be serious consequences.

“It was such a weird f***ed up place.”

The 51-year-old explained that she always viewed Hefner as a father figure and had ‘many happy memories’ with him.

However, she noted that it all changed once she became a teenager.

Saginor claimed: “Hef would kiss with his mouth open in sort of a French kiss sort of way.

“I always thought it was strange that someone who was like my uncle would kiss like that, but my father told me that’s what people do when they love each other.”

She began to realise that women at the mansion were often viewed as ‘commodities’ and would see women walk around naked with men all of the time.

This made Saginor decide that she ‘never’ wanted to be like them.

She also alleged that her father would talk to her about her and her sister’s bodies.

Saginor claimed: “At a young age he’d go over our bodies with us – my sister and I.”

She continued, adding: “That was nerve-wracking because I don’t think either of us thought we measured up to what we thought was acceptable.

“I got my own surgery at 15. It’s just awful.”

As she got older, Saginor ended up becoming romantically tied to one of Hefner’s girlfriends and allegedly slept with them, despite being underage.

She claimed that when she turned 17, she was also called to Hefner’s room where she found him and the girlfriend in bed.

Saginor alleged: “I feel like, in that moment, Hefner crossed a boundary because he had always treated me like a daughter.”

A representative for Playboy has spoken out in response to the documentary.

They stated: “We trust and validate women and their stories and strongly support the individuals who have come forward to share their experiences in this documentary.

“After almost 70 years in business, there are many elements of Playboy’s long history which we are immensely proud and there are elements we find unworthy of our principles…

“We are proud of the work we have done in recent years to stand for freedom and equality while advancing our mission of pleasure for all.”
