The ‘Mirror’ singer allegedly sent Britney Spears a brutal two-word breakup text.

The ‘Toxic’ singer, 41, and Justin Timberlake, 42, were undoubtedly one of the hottest celebrity couples during their relationship.

Having met when they were 12 years old on the set of All-New Mickey Mouse Club, the pair would begin dating in 1999 before Timberlake called things off in 2002.

Now, someone who worked with Spears at the time has revealed how Timberlake ended their relationship.

Speaking to Page Six, music director Chris Applebaum – who has worked with the likes of Demi Lovato, Rihanna and Miley Cyrus – says he was working on set with Spears in 2002 for the video of her song ‘Overpowered (Darkchild Remix)’.

They were shooting in downtown Los Angeles and the ‘Everytime’ singer was preparing to ‘power through’ a rigorous dance sequence – which took two days to shoot.

But toward the end of the second day, Applebaum recalls that the ‘…Baby One More Time’ artist went missing for about 20 to 40 minutes — which he describes as a ‘long time’ because it costs ’20 grand to sit around’.

He found the pop star in her trailer where she was sitting on the floor with her legs crossed, in tears with makeup running down her face.

Spears reportedly showed Applebaum her phone and said: “I can’t believe it. Look it. This happened.”

Apparently, it was a text from Timberlake that simply read: “It’s over!!!”

The music director recalls that Spears’ longtime assistant and friend, Felicia Culotta, put her arm around the ‘Oops! … I Did It Again’ singer’s shoulder and comforted her.

Spears was reportedly reluctant to finish the shoot, but Applebaum says he encouraged her by saying: “If you don’t have it in you, I totally understand … but if you want to go out there and finish this last set-up in the rain, you can show him that he just made the biggest f***ing mistake of his life.”

She is believed to have responded: “I’m going to show him that he blew the best thing he ever had.”

Applebaum adds that Spears was on a ‘mission’ during her dance sequence and she performed it with ‘conviction’.

Elsewhere in the interview, Applebaum claims that Timberlake had been trying to reach her all day and that he was ‘p***ed’ with her as he had found out that she was cheating on him with dancer Wade Robson – something she admits to in her upcoming memoir ‘The Woman in Me’.

Spears reveals in her book that she was dancing with Robson at a Spanish bar when they began kissing one another, as reported by Page Six.

However, Spears writes that she and Timberlake both ‘agreed to move past’ the affair given the years that she was ‘loyal to Justin’ and that she ‘only had eyes for him’.

Shortly after they broke up in 2002, Timberlake released one of his biggest tracks – ‘Cry Me A River’ – which features a woman in the music video sharing a resemblance to his ex.

This led to rumours that she had cheated on him, but Timberlake denied this at the time – adding that it was an ‘intense relationship’ and they agreed to not ‘say specifically why’ they broke up, as per Today.

Britney Spears’ memoir ‘The Woman in Me’ will be released on October 24.
