Lizzo is reportedly being sued by three of her former dancers in a huge online media scandal.

Lizzo, whose real name is Melissa Viviane Jefferson, is most recognisable for her tracks ‘2 Be Loved’, ‘Juice’ and ‘Good As Hell’ and has collaborated with the likes of Ariana Grande, Missy Elliott and Charli XCX.

The 35-year-old pop singer and songwriter is also known for her celebration of body positivity and self-love.

She has toured the world with her uplifting anthems after acquiring an enormous following and selling out arenas worldwide.

However, the ‘About Damn Time’ singer is now facing some serious allegations.

As reported by NBC, Lizzo is being sued over allegations made against herself and her dance captain after members of her touring crew have come forward with several accounts of mistreatment.

Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams and Noelle Rodriguez are the former dancers who have brought the case to light.

It has been reported that the legal action, filed in Los Angeles on Tuesday, includes allegations that the dancers were ‘forced to endure s**ually denigrating behaviour’.

She has also been accused of subjecting the group of dancers to an ‘excruciating’ audition after apparently levelling false accusations they were drinking on the job – as well as pointing out and shaming one dancer’s weight gain.

The claim also states that the group were reportedly ‘pressured into participating in disturbing s** shows’ between 2021 and 2023.

One of the claims against Lizzo is that she allegedly ‘pressured Davis to touch the br***ts’ of a performer in a nightclub whilst on tour in Amsterdam.

Along with this, it was reported that the Grammy award-winning singer invited crew members to ‘catching d****s launched from the performers’ v**inas, and eating bananas protruding from the performers’ v**inas’.

The star has faced accusations, alongside dance choreographer Tanisha Scott, of engaging in weight-shaming towards Davis during their tour, as reported by Variety.

Davis alleges the two questioned whether she was ‘struggling with something as she seemed less committed to her role on the dance cast’, the case details.

Although never explicitly mentioned, the alleged questions created an impression for Davis that she was required to justify her weight gain and divulge intimate personal information about her life in order to retain her job.

The legal action also includes allegations against the dance team’s captain, Shirlene Quigley.

It is claimed that she imposed her Christian beliefs on performers and criticised those who engaged in premarital s**.

It has also come to light that Quigley has been accused of openly discussing the virginity of one of the former dancers and even posting about it on social media.

As per Variety, Black members of the dance team were allegedly ‘treated differently’ than other members of the team.

The case claims that were accused of being ‘lazy, unprofessional, and having bad attitudes’ with these words often used ‘to disparage and discourage’ Black women – while other dancers were reportedly not treated like this.

According to the plaintiffs, they were not fairly compensated by Lizzo and the production company team during certain segments of Lizzo’s European tour.

It has also been stated that two dancers lost their jobs – with them being subject to being berated by expletives.

The suit adds: “Lizzo became furious, hurling expletives at the group and stated that she was going to go around the room, person-by-person until someone told Lizzo who made the recording,”

At the time of writing, the ‘Truth Hurts’ star has not yet responded publicly to the allegations made, which remain to be tested in court.
