Mystic Meg Has Died
Mystic Meg, a famous astrologer, has died aged 80.
The astrologer, whose real name is Margaret Ann Lake, is best known for her daily horoscopes in The Sun.
She worked for the British news outlet for almost 23 years.
The icon also hosted Mystic Meg’s Wheel of Destiny for Sun Bingo.

Her passing has been confirmed by her agent of 34 years, Dave Shapland.
Announcing the news on March 9, he told The Sun: “Without any question, she was Britain’s most famous astrologer by a million miles.
“Nobody came close to Meg in that respect.”
Shapland went on to say how she was ‘followed by millions’ and ‘even became part of the English language’.

While the editor of The Sun, Victoria Newton, also said: “This is devastating news. We have lost an icon.
“Our brilliant and incomparable Meg was synonymous with The Sun – she was a total legend. We loved her and so did our readers.”
Newton added that Meg was a ‘true professional’ and ‘true icon’.
According to The Sun, the astrologer died following a short illness.
She was admitted to St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, London, as she was suffering from the flu.
Many people have taken to Twitter to pay tribute, with one person writing: “RIP Mystic Meg. An icon.”
Another adds: “Saddened to hear of the passing of Mystic Meg.
“I can always remember her doing the lottery predictions on the national lottery draw on a Saturday night.
“My thoughts are with her family and friends. RIP Mystic Meg.”
Somebody else says: “Not Mystic Meg! RIP. What a legend.”
“RIP Mystic Meg!” a fourth person pens. “I used to love reading her crystal ball thoughts on Star Signs especially.”
Meg was born on July 27, 1942, in Accrington, Lancashire.
She received a teacher’s diploma from the University of Leeds, however, she didn’t end up pursuing teaching.
Instead, she became a sub-editor at the News of the World – during this time she worked under the name Eileen Anderson.

She then became the deputy editor of its weekend supplement, Sunday.
Eventually, she became the news outlet’s astrologer, going under the name Mystic Meg.
In 1989, she started phoneline horoscope readings and became a household name.
She also gained recognition in 1994 after hosting the first National Lottery draw broadcast.
The astrologer would appear on stage with her crystal ball and predict who would win the weekly jackpot.
Meg also became known for her astrology column in The Sun.
She lived in Notting Hill with her seven cats.
