Princess Diana’s Brutal Five-Word Description Of Donald Trump Exposed
Princess Diana reportedly had a brutally honest five-word opinion of Donald Trump long before he entered politics.
But the remark only became public years after her death.
The late Princess of Wales, who remains one of the most beloved figures in modern royal history, crossed paths with countless world leaders, celebrities, and business moguls during her lifetime.
Among them was Trump, then best known as a New York property developer and television personality.
Although the pair only met briefly, their names have been linked for decades through stories about Trump’s admiration for Diana and his repeated public comments about her.
Now, renewed attention has focused on what Diana is said to have really thought of him after her brother publicly contradicted one of Trump’s claims.
Why Diana still fascinates the world
Nearly three decades after her death in Paris in August 1997, Princess Diana remains one of the most written-about members of the Royal Family.
Her humanitarian work, openness about mental health and ability to connect with ordinary people earned her the nickname ‘The People’s Princess.’
She famously campaigned to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS, homelessness and landmine victims while reshaping public expectations of what a modern royal could be.
Even today, previously unheard anecdotes involving Diana frequently generate global headlines, particularly when they involve other famous public figures.
Her relationship with Trump has always been a small footnote in that larger story, but one that continues to spark curiosity whenever new comments emerge.
Donald Trump spoke about Diana for years
Trump has publicly discussed Princess Diana on multiple occasions over the years.
Following her death in August 1997, he described her as ‘a genuine princess’ in his 1997 book The Art of the Comeback, writing that he regretted never having had the opportunity to court her.
He later made several more comments during radio interviews with Howard Stern.
In one interview recorded just months after Diana’s death, Stern asked whether Trump thought he ‘could have nailed’ the Princess of Wales, per NBC.
“I think I could have,” Trump replied, before adding she would have needed to pass an HIV test first, comments that later resurfaced during the 2016 presidential campaign.
During another Howard Stern appearance in 2000, Trump again praised Diana’s appearance.
“I think she’s magnificent,” he said. “Lady Di was truly a woman with great beauty… She was supermodel beautiful.”
Years later, while promoting his 2023 book Letters to Trump, the future president made another headline-grabbing claim.
Speaking to Breitbart, Trump said many prominent public figures had once admired him.
“I knew them all,” he said. “Every one of them kissed my ass.”
That remark prompted an unusually personal response from Diana’s younger brother.
Charles Spencer publicly pushed back
Earl Charles Spencer rarely comments publicly on claims involving his late sister, per the Mirror.
But after Trump’s comments circulated in 2023, he took to X, formerly Twitter, to set the record straight as he understood it.
Spencer wrote that he was surprised to hear Trump suggesting Diana had admired him.
He explained that his sister had only ever mentioned Trump to him once, during a period when the businessman was reportedly using her name in connection with New York real estate.
According to Spencer, her opinion could not have been more different from the impression Trump had given publicly.
The post quickly spread across social media and news outlets around the world, reigniting interest in the long-running rumours surrounding Trump and Diana.

Reports claimed Trump pursued Diana after her divorce
The Spencer family’s comments echoed allegations made years earlier by British broadcaster Selina Scott.
Writing for The Sunday Times in 2015, Scott claimed Trump became interested in Diana following her separation from then-Prince Charles in the mid-1990s, the Indian Express reports.
According to Scott, Trump allegedly sent large bouquets of roses and orchids to Kensington Palace on a regular basis.
She claimed Diana eventually became uncomfortable with the attention.
Scott wrote that Trump viewed Diana as the ‘ultimate trophy wife’ and that the flowers became so frequent the princess began asking friends how she should respond.
Scott also claimed Diana privately confided that the attention made her uneasy.
According to the journalist, Diana told her: “He gives me the creeps.”
Scott said she advised Diana simply to throw the flowers away, which reportedly made the princess laugh.
Those claims have never been independently verified beyond Scott’s account.
Trump has consistently disputed them.
Trump denied trying to pursue her
Following publication of Scott’s article, Trump rejected the suggestion that he had been romantically pursuing Princess Diana.
Speaking to Piers Morgan in 2016, he called the reports ‘totally false.’
Trump said he had met Diana only once while greeting people at an event in New York.
“I liked her,” he said. “I met her in New York once standing in line, and we were all shaking hands, and that was the only time I ever met her.”
“I read that story that I was calling her or something, and it was so false.”
Despite his denial, the subject has continued resurfacing because of Trump’s own past comments about the princess and repeated media interest in their brief connection.
The five words everyone is talking about
While Trump publicly praised Diana’s beauty for years and insisted he respected her, Charles Spencer claimed his sister’s private opinion was anything but flattering.
Responding to Trump’s suggestion that Diana had wanted to “kiss his arse,” Spencer revealed the only description he ever heard her use.
According to Diana’s brother, she considered Donald Trump to be: “Worse than an anal fissure.”
