Ricky Gervais Issues Sad Health Update
Ricky Gervais has issued a sad health update.
The After Life star, 61, has starred in and created some of the most adored comedy TV series such as The Office, Extras and Derek.
Gervais is also a hugely successful stand-up comedian – which has seen him have two Netflix specials.
Unfortunately, he has shared some sad news about his health.

The Ricky Gervais Show host shared with his 15.1 million Twitter followers that he recently ‘lived through the worst eight hours of illness’ in his life.
He explained to fans: “I’m not well today. In fact, I’d say I just lived through the worst 8 hours of illness of my life.
“Severe abdominal pains, vomiting every time I moved, (but only tiny bits of bile), hot sweats and chills, oh, and I really want to know who planted the 12 gravy bombs up my a***.”

Fans have taken to the comments to wish him well.
One person says: “Oh dear, that’s terrible! Sounds like food poisoning Ricky. Drink plenty of water and stay in bed. Probably from the travelling or something. Take care.”
“Sending you well wishes for a speedy recovery, Ricky,” comments someone else.
Another fan adds: “Ricky! Get better soon! Sending positive vibes for a speedy recovery!”
Someone else jokes that Gervais’ detailed post it is the ‘perfect sick note’.
They write: “And just like that Ricky Gervais provides the template for the perfect sick note! Just copy and paste that description, and voilà – you’ve got yourself a guaranteed day off.
“Even your boss will be too terrified to question it.”
Responding to comments that wished him well, Gervais says he believes he caught norovirus.

Someone writes: “Sounds like it is norovirus that is going around. My friend and my daughter and son-in-law have had it. It is awful. Hope you get better soon.”
This prompted the Night at the Museum actor to respond: “Yeah that’s what I thought.”
“If it’s norovirus it’s bad while it lasts but it doesn’t last long,” assures another person.

Norovirus – also known as the ‘winter vomiting bug’ – is a stomach bug that causes vomiting and diarrhoea, as per the NHS.
Luckily, it only tends to last for only a couple of days.
