The ‘Umbrella’ singer, 34, is undoubtedly one of the most talented singers in the world.

She’s reportedly sold over 250 million records worldwide and is the second bestselling female music artist of all time.

There’s actually an ancient NFL rule that means no artist who performs the halftime show will be paid.

According to the league’s policy, the NFL covers all the costs of the halftime production show, including the artist’s travel expenses.

However, this is usually done through sponsors, with this year’s being Apple Music.

Although the performances only last around 13 minutes, the production costs can be immense.

Jennifer Lopez and Shakira’s performance at the Super Bowl LIV in Miami reportedly cost the NFL a staggering $13 million.

This will cover the technical elements of the production, as well as the paycheques of the thousands of employees working on the show.

Although artists who perform at the halftime show won’t get paid, the performance is definitely worth it.

It can create a ton of publicity and exposure, as the singer will be performing on one of the world’s biggest and most televised converts, with over 100 million people tuning into the show.

Following Lady Gaga’s performance at the halftime show in 2018, her music sales reportedly spiked a whopping 1000%, reports Billboard.

But as Rihanna is one of the biggest-selling female artists of all time, people are questioning why she would need to perform at the show.

Many of the singer’s fans are speculating that she is preparing to go on tour.

An insider tells Page Six: “There has been a lot of talk among people in the know, especially in the last week or two, that Rihanna is gearing up to announce a tour.

“It seems to be more than just hearsay at this point.”

While a second source says: “Even some members of Rihanna’s team have been kept in the dark.

“It’s all a big secret, from the details of her halftime show to what’s next – if anything.”
