Student Who Tracks Celebrities’ Private Jets Hits Back After Taylor Swift Threatened To Sue Him
The student who has been tracking celebrities’ private jets has hit back at Taylor Swift after the ‘Shake It Off’ singer reportedly threatened to sue him.
One perk of being famous is being able to jet around in your plane whenever you want and avoid the stress of waiting around in an airport.
While it certainly is handy, many celebrities have been called out for the excessive use of their private jets – including Kylie Jenner.
And now one student has seemingly made it his mission to call out Swift every time she flies.

Jack Sweeney, who runs a celebrity flight tracker page on X (formerly known as Twitter) and Instagram, previously made headlines in 2022 for tracking Elon Musk’s flight – which led to the X CEO suspending the student’s account, as per The Cut.
Sweeney’s posts do not provide any information as to who is travelling on the planes.
The 21-year-old student, from the University of Central Florida, also has an account dedicated to the ‘Cruel Summer’ singer’s journeys.
His account, @taylorswiftjets, has now been suspended by Meta platforms Instagram, Threads, and Facebook.
Swift’s travel plans have drawn increased attention from fans in recent months due to her record-breaking Eras world tour.
The ‘Blank Space’ artist is expected to travel to Las Vegas to see her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, who is playing in the NFL Super Bowl, one day after her concert in Tokyo.
A 2022 analysis by sustainability-marketing agency Yard claimed that Swift was the ‘biggest celebrity [carbon dioxide] polluter’ of the year.
However, this was denied by her publicist at the time, who responded by saying that she loans out her planes for other people to use.
Adding to this, MyClimateTracker claimed that the ‘I Knew You Were Trouble’ singer was not even in the top 30 of celebrities who used private jets the most in 2023 – with first place going to Travis Scott and Kim Kardashian at a close second.
And now it seems that Swift has had enough of Sweeney’s tracking.

Swift’s lawyers have reportedly issued a cease-and-desist letter to Sweeney, demanding that he stop sharing the location of her private jet, according to the BBC.
The letter reportedly states that the information he has been making public poses ‘an imminent threat to the safety and wellbeing’ of Swift, describing it as a ‘life-or-death matter’ for her.
Her lawyers reportedly cite her history with stalkers – and as recent as last month, a man was arrested on stalking charges outside the ‘Love Story’ singer’s home.
A spokesperson reportedly says posts about Swift’s jets are partly to blame.
“We cannot comment on any ongoing police investigation but can confirm the timing of stalkers suggests a connection,” they state.
“His posts tell you exactly when and where she would be.”
In an interview with the Mirror, Sweeney claims that the letter surfaced days after headlines criticised Swift’s jet use and its carbon emission.
“A year prior, her team informed the media that her jet is seldom used by her and is often loaned out,” he says.
“These statements contradict each other, much like her team’s response to owning a single jet, which has only been true for the past two weeks.”
Sweeney also points out that Swift’s team have not been responding to his ‘correspondence or anything regarding the points on the emissions’.
However, despite their ongoing legal battle, Sweeney says that his intention is ‘not to cause harm’.
He tells the outlet: “Firstly, I’d like to clarify that my intentions are not to cause harm. In fact, I actually like some of Swift’s songs.”
