Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss’ cause of death has been confirmed by an LA coroner. 

Boss, 40, was known for being a resident DJ on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, as well as starring in the films Magic Mike XXL and Step Up 3D.

His tragic passing was confirmed by his wife, Allison Holker Boss, on December 13.

The couple had three children together and had just celebrated their ninth wedding anniversary.

His wife paid tribute following news of his death.

Allison Boss told People magazine: “It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to share my husband Stephen has left us.

“Stephen lit up every room he stepped into. He valued family, friends and community above all else and leading with love and light was everything to him.

“He was the backbone of our family, the best husband and father, and an inspiration to his fans.”

She continued: “To say he left a legacy would be an understatement, and his positive impact will continue to be felt.

“I am certain there won’t be a day that goes by that we won’t honour his memory. We ask for privacy during this difficult time for myself and especially for our three children.”

Concluding her statement, Boss shared a message to her husband that read: “Stephen, we love you, we miss you, and I will always save the last dance for you.”

Boss is survived by his wife and their three children, Weslie, 14, Maddox, 6, and Zaia, 3.

Boss’ wife reportedly entered the LAPD station on Tuesday and said she was concerned about Boss as he’d left home without his car, reports TMZ.

Shortly afterwards, the news outlet reported that the police department responded to a call regarding a shooting at an LA hotel.

Further information has now been confirmed by an LA coroner.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner states Boss died by suicide from a gunshot wound to the head.

After hearing the devastating news about Boss, many celebrities have taken to social media, including Ellen DeGeneres.

The presenter tweeted: “I’m heartbroken. tWitch was pure love and light.

“He was my family, and I loved him with all my heart. I will miss him.

“Please send your love and support to Allison and his beautiful children – Weslie, Maddox, and Zaia.”

His Magic Mike co-star Channing Tatum wrote on Instagram: “I have no words. There aren’t any. My head or heart can not understand this.

“There is just so much… I don’t know where to begin. I love you,” he added. “I’ll see you again my friend. Until then.”

MTV also paid tribute to Boss, in which they described his ‘energetic spirit’.
