Celine Dion has been diagnosed with an incurable disease that turns sufferers into ‘human statues’.
The ‘My Heart Will Go On’ singer, 54, is a bestselling Canadian recording artist who is known for her powerful vocals.
Dion has been on tour since 2019 and hinted at health problems earlier this year when she cancelled her North American dates from March 9 to April 22, reports Daily Mail.
She’s now revealed that she will cancel her European tour in an emotional Instagram post, citing further health issues.

The ‘All by Myself’ artist said she has been diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS).
SPS is a rare neurological disorder which has features of an autoimmune disease.
Progressively, it locks the body into rigid positions. It can lead to abnormal postures, leaving a person hunched over and stiffened.
It can eventually leave a person unable to walk or talk.
Although there are treatments to slow down its progress, SPS is currently incurable.

Revealing her diagnosis in a tearful video, Dion said (via The Independent): “As you know I’ve always been an open book and I wasn’t ready to say anything before but I am ready now.
“I’ve been dealing with problems with my health for a long time and it’s been really difficult for me to face my challenges and to talk about everything that I’ve been going through.”
Dion then said she had ‘recently’ been diagnosed with ‘a very rare neurological disorder called Stiff Person Syndrome which affects around one in a million people’.
She added: “While we’re still learning about this rare condition, we now know this is what’s been causing all the spasms I’ve been having.”
Dion explained that the disorder may affect her ability to perform and sing, as well as her ability to carry out normal activities.
The musician continued: “Unfortunately, these spasms affect every aspect of my daily life, sometimes causing difficulties when I walk and not allowing me to use my vocal cords to sing the way I’m used to.”
