Chris Brown kicked off after losing out on a Grammy Award to an artist he’s never heard of.

The 65th Grammy awards saw some big winners, with Harry Styles picking up Album of the Year.

Meanwhile, Beyoncé broke the record for the most Grammy wins of all time.

However, one person who didn’t win an award was Brown, and he certainly let everyone know how he felt about it.

The musician was nominated for Best R&B Album.

He was up against Mary J. Blige for ‘Good Morning Gorgeous’, Robert Glasper for ‘Black Radio III’, Lucky Daye for ‘Candydrip’ and PJ Morton for ‘Watch The Sun’.

While Brown was the favourite to win the award, the Grammy went to Glasper – much to his delight.

Brown, on the other hand, was furious and took to social media to slam the decision.

In a now-deleted series of Instagram stories, he first posted a photo of Gasper along with the caption: “Y’all playing. Who da f*** is this.”

He continued to mock the singer by writing: “Who the f*** is Robert Glasper,” before adding: “I’ma keep kicking y’all a** respectfully.”

Brown ended his rant by saying that he is going to learn the harmonica to help his chances of winning a second Grammy award.

While Glasper may not be as recognisable a name as the ‘Forever’ singer, he has been nominated for 11 Grammy’s throughout his career – winning five of them.

He is a pianist, record producer and songwriter – and has worked with the likes of Mac Miller, Anderson Paak, Banks, Brittany Howard, Kendrick Lamar, Denzel Curry, Q-Tip and Common.

‘Black Radio III’ is his 11th studio album and received heaps of praise.

While Brown may not be happy about Glasper’s win, people on social media defended the Grammy winner and criticised Brown’s outburst.

One user posted: “Instead of Chris Brown being nasty in his IG stories towards Robert Glasper, he needs to be trying to set up a studio session with him, but I digress!”

Someone else said: “Chris Brown wrote on Instagram of Robert Glasper ‘who da f*** is this?’ with smiling emojis.

“Glasper, an icon in R&B has won five Grammys to Brown’s one.”

“How does Chris Brown not know who Robert Glasper is?” asked a third.

Another fan commented: “Chris Brown not knowing who Robert Glasper is, is the reason all of Chris Brown’s songs sound the same.”

A fifth fan added: “Chris Brown ‘not knowing’ who Robert Glasper is says more about Chris than Rob.”
