Deleted Harry Potter Scene Answers Huge Plot Hole In Movie
A deleted Harry Potter scene answers a huge plot hole in the movie.
The Harry Potter films, which are based on the book series by J.K. Rowling, finished over 11 years ago.
However, fans remain devoted and continue to find out bizarre and interesting facts about the fictional wizarding world.
And it turns out there’s still more to be discovered, with one deleted scene answering a huge plot hole many have noted over the years.

The Harry Potter books sold millions of copies all over the world and the stories were turned into eight blockbuster films starring Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson.
In the final movie of the franchise, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, a huge fight is about to take place between Hogwarts students and Voldemort’s Death Eaters.
When preparing for battle, McGonagall (Maggie Smith) instructs all the Slytherin students to go into the dungeons so that they don’t join the Death Eaters’ side.
This is slightly different to the book where all Slytherin students (as well as wizards and witches under the age of 16) are sent away from the castle.

This is understandable, as it wouldn’t be morally right to make students too young to fight, or for the Slytherin students to potentially fight against their families.
In the film, Draco Malfoy (Tom Felton) starts a fight with Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe), Ron Weasley (Rupert Grint) and Hermoine Granger (Emma Watson).
He’s joined by fellow Slytherins, Goyle (Josh Herdman) and Blaise (Louis Cordice).
Eagle-eyed viewers questioned how this intense scene even takes place – as Malfoy’s sidekicks should be in the dungeons and out of the way.
However, this glaring plot hole was originally explained in the film – as shown in a deleted scene.
The cut scene explains how Malfoy finds himself able to attack Potter and his friends.
It shows Hogwarts’ caretaker Argus Filch (David Bradley) chuckling at the Slytherin students stuck in the dungeon until Malfoy casts a spell which sets them all free.
After watching the deleted scene, many Harry Potter fans have taken to social media to react.

One person writes: “These deleted scenes are gold stuff.”
“I wouldn’t care if each of the movies were six hours long. They should’ve put everything from the books.”
Another adds: “Wouldn’t it be so much different if they had turned Harry Potter into a series?
“I mean, think of not only every scene [that] could’ve made it, but all the little storylines, all the details that are in the books, it could’ve been in there! 7 or 8 seasons, instead of movies.”
While a third fumes: “They could have VERY EASILY kept these parts in!”
