Netflix’s Terrifying Horror Series Is Leaving Viewers Scared For Their Lives
After watching one of Netflix‘s underrated horror series, people have been left scared for their lives.
People are taking to social media and raving over the little-known French TV series some say is the ‘scariest show ever.’
One viewer says: “Only watched episode one last night before bed and it’s f***ed up haha.”
Another declares: “Netflix has released one of the great horror series of the year.”
“First genuinely scary horror I’ve seen in a while,” somebody else remarks.
A fourth person writes: “It’s the scariest thing I’ve ever watched in my whole f***ing life.”
Critics have praised it too, as Bl**dy Disgusting‘s Meagan Navarro described it as ‘nightmares personified,’ and John Serba wrote for the Decider that it will ‘likely scratch your itch for scary stuff.’
It even drew praise from best-selling horror writer Stephen King, who said it’s ‘one for the sickos.’
The series also has an impressive Rotten Tomatoes score of 100% while it’s scored 7.4 on IMDb.
The 2019 series, directed by Samuel Bodin, follows horror writer Emma as she uncovers that the characters she writes about are also in the real world.
It stars Victoire du Bois, Lucie Boujenah, Tiphaine Daviot, and Mireille Herbstmeyer.
Although the show came out years ago, it’s found a new fanbase over on Netflix, where many have been left disappointed to learn it was canceled after just one season.
Sadly, Bodin says Marianne simply didn’t draw in enough viewers to justify a second series.
In an interview with Bl**dy Disgusting, he admitted there were originally plans for future installments.
“At the time, I really wanted to do three seasons,” he said. “The story in my head takes three seasons, three acts for me. Three big chapters.”
Still, there’s one super disturbing season to watch!
