Netflix has launched a terrifying new horror series that has debuted with an impressive rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
The streaming giant has a reputation for having some of the scariest content available.
From Evil Dead Rise, one of the biggest horror films of the year, to the terrifying series Dear Child – Netflix has plenty for fans who enjoy being frightened.
But now, a new series has dropped on the streaming service that has made quite a splash with both viewers and critics.

The Fall of the House of Usher is the latest series from acclaimed horror maker Mike Flanagan – the man behind The Haunting of Hill House, Midnight Mass and The Haunting of Bly Manor.
The series is loosely based on a short story of the same name by the Master of the Macabre – Edgar Allen Poe.
The story follows Roderick Usher, the CEO of a corrupt pharmaceutical company, who must confront his past after his children begin to die in brutal ways.
The Fall Of The House Of Usher boasts an all-star cast including Luke Skywalker himself Mark Hamill, Bruce Greenwood (I, Robot), Carla Gugino (San Andreas) and a number of Flanagan’s frequent collaborators such as Ruth Codd, Rahul Kohli and Kate Siegel.
Since debuting on the streaming service, it has received an impressive 90% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and viewers have been praising it on social media.

Not only that, but it debuted with a score of 95%, which was higher than its popular predecessor –The Haunting of Hill House.
“The Fall of the House of Usher is already starting off [with a] bomb. This cast is amazing!!!!” writes one person.
Someone else pens: “I’m late to The Fall of the House of Usher hype, but I promise this show is a sick and gory romp that gets right to the chase.
“Mind-blowing deaths, wild s**, lying, cheating, grossly sick b**tards – all the goodies. Mike Flanagan took tricky source material and made it his own.”
A third viewer says: “Having not been able to get into any Mike Flanagan work after The Haunting of Hill House (which rocks) I entered with a hopeful heart… and found The Fall of the House of Usher good fun and surprisingly funny.”
“The Fall of the House of Usher is like if Mike Flanagan made Succession,” quips another person.
A fifth viewer adds: “The Fall of the House of Usher was phenomenal. Binged in a day. It’s got some absolutely incredible horrific scenes and some scares that really got me.
“Crazy s***, great storytelling. F***ing beautiful.”
“Somehow even better than the hype,” another enthuses.
With The Fall Of The House Of Usher coming from Flanagan, viewers can expect this to be top-tier horror thrills.
His most recent show, The Midnight Club, broke the record for the most jump scares in a single TV episode.
Ironically, Flanagan admitted at the time of the show that he is not a fan of jump scares – but made sure to include as many as possible as fans criticised him for not putting enough in his previous work.

Speaking to Deadline, he explained: “I thought, ‘We’re going to do all of them at once, and then if we do it right, a jump scare will be rendered meaningless for the rest of the series’. It’ll just destroy it.
“Kill it finally until it’s dead. But that didn’t happen. They were like, ‘Great! More [scares]!’.
“My whole career, I completely s*** on jump scares as a concept, and I wanted to make sure it was pinned to me, too, as much as it is to the show, to Netflix, and all of us who have inflicted this on everyone.
“Now, I have my name in the Guinness Book of World Records for jump scares, which means next time I get the note, I can say, ‘You know, as the current world record holder for jump scares, I don’t think we need one here’.”
