McDonald’s fans have been left fuming as the price of a popular menu item has spiked by 112%.

The fast-food chain is one of the biggest franchises in the world and it’s known for its huge range of burgers, moreish fries and McFlurries.

But it’s also known for being affordable for those who are on the go.

However, McDonald’s finally appears to have been hit by the cost of living crisis – as the price of one of its menu items has shot up in price.

Check out this hash brown recipe in the clip below…

In 2019, McDonald’s hash browns cost just 89p and now, according to the chain’s app, the breakfast dish costs £1.49.

Some customers have even claimed that when ordering through Just Eat, the snack has cost as much as £1.89.

Many McDonald’s fans have now taken to Twitter and reacted to the price increase – and it’s safe to say they’re not impressed.

One person tweets: “No one is talking about the price of a McDonald’s hash brown but we should be.”

A fourth person writes: “The McDonald’s hash brown price is crazy.”

While another customer pens: “At this point, it’s cheaper to buy a bag of them from the shops.

“I remember in 2013 they were 75p and I really don’t understand, even with inflation, how they’re over a quid with how popular McDonald’s is globally.”

Another adds: “McDonald’s ain’t cheap no more lmao.”

McDonald’s has responded to some of the comments regarding the price increase.

One of the replies reads: “Prices are up to the restaurant owner to decide. location and food costs cause prices to vary.

“You can always download the McDonald’s App for the latest and greatest deals!”

The price increase comes after the fast-food chain raised the price of other items earlier this year.

Although fans won’t be happy about these price increases, there is some good news for McDonald’s fans.
