House of the Dragon fans were gobsmacked after watching a ‘disturbing’ feet scene in the penultimate episode of the Game of Thrones spinoff. Warning: There may be some spoilers…

The fantasy drama is no stranger to causing shock and disgust, with viewers regularly being taken aback by its gruesome scenes and storylines.

The wicked behaviour of Ramsay Bolton (Iwan Rheon) and King Joffrey (Jack Gleeson) throughout their time on Game of Thrones often made for deeply uncomfortable viewing.

While the famed ‘Red Wedding’ – a brutal massacre that took place during the ‘War of the Five Kings’ – is considered by many to have been the most disturbing.

In House of the Dragon, the grim content has followed-suit, with viewers stunned by Prince Aegon Targaryen (Ty Tennant) m*****bating out of a window and an uncle-niece inc**t scene between Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen (Milly Alcock) and Prince Daemon (Matt Smith).

In the latest episode, ‘The Green Council’, viewers were again appalled, this time by an interaction between Queen Alicent Hightower (Olivia Cooke) and Larys Strong (Matthew Needham).

As Larys talks, Alicent removes her shoes and stockings, with the scene ending with him pleasuring himself over the sight of her bare feet.

The suggestion is that Alicent may have been trading information for similar interactions for a number of years.

Viewers quickly took to social media to express their disgust.

One person wrote on Facebook: “This scene might have been the most shocking and disturbing to me.

“So gross. Alicent has sunk to the lowest of lows…with her toes.”

On Twitter, another viewer said: “I am sorry but every time I close my eyes, I see that feet scene.

“I just want to rub Purell [hand sanitiser] on my brain.”

A third person added: “Nah, House of the Dragon is the show of the year. Except for that feet scene.

“That was weird.”

Some even suggested that the scene was even worse than the notorious ‘Red Wedding’.

One person wrote: “That foot scene gave me more trauma than the Red Wedding.”

Thrones‘ ‘Red Wedding’ was arranged by Lord Walder Frey (Harry Potter star David Bradley) as revenge against Robb Stark (Richard Madden), who was King of the North, for breaking a marriage pact between House Stark and House Frey.

Robb’s mother, Catelyn Stark (Michelle Fairley), had previously promised Walder that the King of the North would marry one of his daughters.

However, Robb broke the pact by marrying Talisa (Oona Chaplin), a noblewoman from the city of Volantis he meets during the ‘War of the Five Kings’.

At their wedding, Robb, Catelyn, and most of his soldiers were slaughtered.

As the series approaches its finale, the aftermath of King Viserys’ (Paddy Considine) death was explored in Episode 9, ‘The Green Council’.

At the time of writing, the latest instalment boasts a 9.3/10 rating on IMDb.

The foot fetish scene followed Alicent wrongly believing that Viserys’ dying wish was for their son, Aegon (Tom Glynn-Carney), to succeed him as King.

After informing Otto Hightower (Rhys Ifans) – her father and Hand of the King – he takes action in order to prevent Rhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy) from rightfully taking her place on the throne.

Otto claims that his wish for Rhaenyra to die is to prevent war, which then leads to a showdown with Alicent.

She removes him as Hand of the King and is soon told by Larys that Otto is aware of a web of spies working around her in King’s Landing.

Otto, it is believed, has been using these spies to his advantage and the baring of her feet was Larys’ reward for giving up the information.

Elsewhere, Aegon is enjoying his coronation, until Rhaenys (Eve Best) and her dragon Meleys burst in through the back wall.

Meleys roars, standing in front of Alicent and her children, as she has the power to destroy their entire line at once.

But Rhaenys chooses not to. And she turns and flies away, escaping King’s Landing.
