An Indiana man ‘robs a woman at gunpoint’ then make her add him on Facebook and asks her out.

Amber Beraun was just going by her day and checking her mailbox outside her home in Indianapolis on May 8 when Damien Boyce made an advance towards her and pulled a gun out.

Speaking to WRTV, she recalled: “I had a man come up and try to rob me at gunpoint after I got off work late one night.”

He then asked Beraun to give her all of her cash – which she did – but then things took an unexpected turn.

After taking about $100 and still pointing his gun at the young woman, the robber asked if she would let him in his house – which she refused.

“He took it out of his pocket to show me what was going on – let me into your house. I did not do that,” Beraun explains.

“He really tried to rob me of my own things, but he took away my sense of safety from my own home.”

As a follow-up request, Boyce asked Beraun if she would add him on Facebook.

“I thought if maybe I added him on Facebook, he would leave and he did,” she continues.

Following the robbery, court documents show that the criminal left a flattering message for his victim – saying that she was too ‘pretty to rob’ and that he would give her the money back.

He also asked if they could ‘chill’.

“Look you know I’mma pay you back. It’s a f***ed up way to meet someone, but d*** you was too pretty to rob,” Boyce messaged.

This led to Beraun responding: “I believe you man. I can tell you’re sweet, times just got rough. I know that.”

She did clarify though that she has a boyfriend and had to turn the criminal’s offer down.

Speaking to WRTV, Beraun explained: “It makes me a little on edge knowing that people walk up and down the street, looking for places to commit crimes.

“It makes it a little different when you hear noises at night.”

Despite feeling bad for his crime, Boyce was arrested for the robbery and charged with gunpoint robbery – with his bail bond currently being set at $7,500.

Along with his crime, he was also arrested for a previous robbery that happened on June 12, along with charges of burglary, unlawful possession of a weapon, criminal recklessness and battery.
