According to sources close to the Spider-Man: No Way Home star, Foxx is ‘lucky to be alive’ following his ‘medical complication’.
Speaking to RadarOnline, they claim: “Jamie suffered a serious medical episode and needed immediate attention.
“It was touch and go for days with him, and he had to be revived – he is very lucky to be alive!”
The source also alleges that Foxx potentially suffered a stroke – claiming that the actor ‘suffers from high blood pressure’ and that ‘doctors believe this was a long time coming’.
Foxx’s condition was believed to be so severe that family members – some of which were not in the area – were told to visit him at the hospital, reports TMZ.

Family and friends of Foxx have been providing updates on the actor’s health, with his daughter Corrine praising the doctors at the hospital for acting fast.
She has taken to Instagram and penned: “We wanted to share that my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday.
“Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery.”
Meanwhile, Nick Cannon says that he has been ‘praying’ for his close friend.
He says: “I know he’s doing so much better because I’m actually about to do something special for him, and do him a favour.”
It has since been revealed that Cannon is stepping in for Foxx as the host of Beat Shazam.

A statement from the show’s distributor – Fox – confirmed this in a statement.
It reads, per Deadline, “Beat Shazam has been an unscripted mainstay on the Fox schedule for six seasons and counting.
“This season, not wanting fans of the game show to miss a minute of the fun, Nick Cannon has offered to fill in as guest host for his friends, Jamie and Corinne Foxx.”
Foxx’s complication happened amid his work on the upcoming Netflix film Back in Action, which is set to star Cameron Diaz and Glenn Close.
Following news of Foxx’s health, filming was temporarily shut down.
However, it has reportedly since been assumed and wrapped up – with a stand-in apparently being used for scenes involving the Any Given Sunday actor.
It has been alleged that there has a number of mishaps on the set of the film.
Shooting was apparently postponed when an unexpected WWII bomb was discovered on set in London.
A source also alleges to The Sun that Foxx had a ‘major meltdown’ during filming over some ‘issues on set’.
This led to four members of the production staff allegedly being fired.
