Jamie Foxx’s daughter has given an update on his health after there were claims that they were ‘preparing for the worst’.

The Django Unchained actor, 55, was rushed to a hospital in Georgia following a ‘medical complication’ last month.

Details about the Oscar-winning actor have largely been kept secret – with only friends and family members providing brief updates on his health.

His daughter, Corrine Foxx, initially broke the news about her father in an Instagram post.

In the statement, she shared how the Collateral star experienced a medical complication but was on his way to recovery.

Meanwhile, close friend Nick Cannon said that he has been ‘praying’ for his close friend while he was in hospital.

Foxx has since broken his silence where he posted a short message on Instagram which said: “Appreciate all the love. Feeling blessed.”

Despite the updates, reports from numerous social media accounts were claiming that Foxx’s condition had taken a turn for the worse and his family were preparing for some bad news.

But his daughter has hit back at the reports and shared a positive update.

In an Instagram story, she says: “Update from the family: Sad to see how the media runs wild. My Dad has been out of the hospital for weeks, recuperating.

“In fact, he was playing pickleball yesterday! Thanks for everyone’s prayers and support!

“We have an exciting work announcement coming next week too!”

The Ray star was rushed to hospital while filming the Netflix film Back in Action, which is set to star Cameron Diaz and Glenn Close.

The production of the movie was halted following his admission to the hospital – but it was completed with a stand-in being used for scenes involving Foxx.

According to sources close to the Spider-Man: No Way Home star, Foxx is ‘lucky to be alive’ following his ‘medical complication’.

Speaking to RadarOnline, they claim: “Jamie suffered a serious medical episode and needed immediate attention.

“It was touch and go for days with him, and he had to be revived – he is very lucky to be alive!”

The source also alleges that Foxx potentially suffered a stroke – claiming that the Any Given Sunday actor ‘suffers from high blood pressure’ and that ‘doctors believe this was a long time coming’.

Foxx’s condition was believed to be so severe that family members – some of which were not in the area – were told to visit him at the hospital, reports TMZ.
