Jennifer Aniston has responded to a backlash she received for revealing she has cut off friends who ‘refuse to get vaccinated’.

The Friends star caused a stir when she said she had ‘lost a few people from her weekly routine’ who had opted not to have it.

Taking to Instagram stories, she said: “Because if you have the variant, you are still able to give it to me.

“I may get slightly sick but I will not be admitted to a hospital and or die.

”But I can give it to someone else who does not have the vaccine and whose health is compromised (or has a previously existing condition) – and therefore I would put their lives at risk.”

She’s now been praised for defending herself.

One fan wrote on Twitter: “Jennifer Aniston is never wrong.”

Another added: “Jennifer Aniston is a real queen.”

However, not everybody agrees with her comments.

One person wrote: “Okay #JenniferAniston… as you say, everyone is entitled to their opinion, i.e if they want the vaccine or not… but your opinion is, if they don’t get it then you won’t be their #Friend.”

Another added: “It’s very nice that she has so many friends that she can just decide which one she wants to keep and which ones not so much. Truthfully she has no idea who is actually vaccinated and who’s not. Unless of course, she’s asking for vaccine cards at her front door. #JenniferAniston.”

Aniston made her original comments about the vaccine during an interview with InStyle.

She told the publication: “There’s still a large group of people who are anti-vaxxers or just don’t listen to the facts. It’s a real shame.

“I’ve just lost a few people in my weekly routine who have refused or did not disclose [whether or not they had been vaccinated], and it was unfortunate. I feel it’s your moral and professional obligation to inform since we’re not all podded up and being tested every single day.”

She added: “It’s tricky because everyone is entitled to their own opinion – but a lot of opinions don’t feel based in anything except fear or propaganda.”
