Jennifer Lawrence has claimed she experienced the ‘worst day of her life’ while filming Netflix’s Don’t Look Up.

The 31-year-old, who appears in the star-studded movie alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, Jonah Hill, Meryl Streep, and Ariana Grande, said it happened while shooting her first scene.

Lawrence plays astronomer Kate Dibiasky and the film begins with her discovering a ‘terrifying’ comet is heading straight for Earth while she is casually singing along to Wu-Tang Clan’s 1993 hit ‘Ain’t Nuthing ta F’ Wit’.

Opening up about the ‘horrendous’ moment at a press conference, she said: “Because something happened with Covid, that ended up being my very first scene.

“It was horrifying, because I’m in this huge hanger, and it’s so quiet. And I don’t know anybody, and I had to rap Wu-Tang Clan. It was just horrendous. And then what’s in the movie is like, five seconds. I really wish I had known that.”

Writer and director Adam McKay then pitched in and said she did a great job, to which Lawrence responded: “Hey, I knew my assignment. I did know every word, I still do.”

Lawrence recently opened up about another day on set where she was relentlessly ‘insulted’ by Jonah Hill.

Chatting to Vanity Fair, she said: “He is the worst. It was really, really hard filming with Jonah, and just not ruining take after take, laughing.

“We one time dedicated an entire day to him just improv-ing insults at me. It was amazing.

“He and Meryl are the only ones who really should do that kind of improv. I mean, he’s just a comedic master.

“We all did some stuff. Just not as well as Jonah.”

For those who haven’t watched it yet, the film’s official synopsis reads: “Two astronomers go on a media tour to warn humankind of a planet-killing comet hurtling towards Earth.

“The response from a distracted world: Meh.”

Don’t Look Up is now available to stream on Netflix.
