Liam Neeson says he felt ‘uncomfortable’ as a guest on The View.

The legendary actor, 70, is best known for his performances in films such as Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, Love Actually, Schindler’s List, and Taken.

Having starred in over around 140 movies, he is arguably one of the biggest actors over the last couple of decades.

But during an interview with The View panellists, little is mentioned of Neeson’s impressive career and instead, he’s left feeling rather ‘uncomfortable’.

The chat show is hosted by Whoopi Goldberg, Ana Navarro, Alyssa Farah Griffin, Sunny Hostin, and Joy Behar.

The Batman Begins actor meets the panel on the programme to promote his new film, Marlowe.

During his appearance, the running joke that Behar has a ‘crush’ on Neeson is referenced, with the other hosts teasing her.

At one point, Griffin jokingly says that Behar ‘wants to get taken’ by the performer.

Hostin then tells Neeson: “It’s no secret Joy thinks you’re the hottest and the greatest ever.”

They then discuss his upcoming film, before the show plays a montage of all the times Behar has mentioned Neeson over the years.

This includes a time when she said she wanted to have her ashes sprinkled over him.

While in another clip, she admits to being ‘aroused’ by the Gangs of New York actor.

Although Neeson appears to be fine and takes the compliments in his stride at the time, he has since spoken out and criticised it.

Speaking to Rolling Stone, he says: “I was in the dressing room drinking a cup of tea, turned the TV up, and I thought, oh, this will be great.

“They’re talking about gun violence in America, and I agree that it’s an American problem.

“I go onstage and join the ladies during the break, and I was congratulating them on this discussion.

“And then our segment starts and it’s just all this bulls*** with Joy [Behar] and Liam Neeson and having a crush, and I’ve known Whoopi [Goldberg] for years and Joy a little bit, but I just wasn’t impressed.”

Neeson goes on to tell Rolling Stone that he gets ‘uncomfortable in those situations’ and that he had an ‘intelligent conversation’ with Hostin, a former federal prosecutor, after the show.

He continues: “The segment’s all about this – oof 13, 14-year-old crush.

“It’s just a bit embarrassing.”

It seems that people on social media also felt the same way as Neeson.

Referencing the interview, one viewer says: “I saw it and it looked so uncomfortable for him.”

“Ewwwwww. I’m embarrassed for him. Poor guy,” adds a second.

Someone else comments: “The View owes Liam Neeson an apology, in particular Joy Behar.

“Can you imagine a man gushing over a woman actress like this?”
