Margot Robbie confronted men she overheard men talking about her movie Barbie, not knowing she was just three feet away…

Margot Robbie’s movie Barbie has taken over the world since it was released last summer and became a firm figure in the cultural zeitgeist.

The film, which dropped on July 21 2023, smashed box office records, and now holds the title for Warner Bros’ best seven-day opening!

However, it seems the film’s enormous impact managed to pass some people by.

A group of men in a pub were caught talking about Robbie’s movie, by Robbie herself – who was just a mere three feet away!

The Wolf of Wall Street star had a moment that eerily mimicked a scene in the 1999 rom-com Notting Hill.

In the movie, Julia Roberts’ character stumbles upon a group of men talking rather rudely about her, not knowing she was listening the whole time.

Speaking at a SAG-AFTRA screening of the film in Los Angeles this week, Robbie revealed the very same thing happened to her, as per Mail Online.

She was enjoying a quiet pint in a remote Scottish pub just after Barbie was released, when she was probably one of the most famous faces in the world.

“I had this brilliant experience,” she laughs.

“I was in a pub in the middle of nowhere in Scotland and I listened for about 30 minutes to a group of guys on a bachelor party discussing the Barbie movie, not knowing that I was sitting two or three feet away from them.”

Robbie continues: “It was just truly fascinating. There were people at the table who refused to see the Barbie movie.

“One guy was like, ‘Dude, it is a cultural moment, don’t you want to be a part of culture?’ And the other guy was like, ‘I’ll never see it,’ and by the end he did want to see it. It was a whole thing.

“I wasn’t going to go up to them, but then I did.”

Robbie then goes on to explain how she dealt with the awkward situation – in a truly inspirational way!

“At the last minute as I was walking out I went to their table and I went ‘Thank you for seeing the Barbie movie’,” she recalls.

“It was very funny, they lost it. It took a full minute for them to realise and I was practically out the door and they went ‘Ohhhh’.

“People’s reactions to the movie have been the biggest reward of this entire experience.”

“Whether it’s having a moment like that, or whether it’s listening in the bathrooms, or whether it’s seeing what people are writing online.

“I’ve never been a part of something like this. Not like this.”

We bet the men’s faces were pretty red!
