An MMA star has been shot dead aged 34. 

Brazillian fighter Mauro Chaulet competed in a number of organisations – with the most famous one being LFA (Legacy Fight Allegiance).

He had a record of 13-9, as per ESPN, and fought in the featherweight division.

There has now been some tragic news regarding Chaulet.

According to the Brazilian outlet Radio Guabia, the MMA fighter was shot dead in Porto Alegre after an alleged altercation with a military police officer.

The incident allegedly occurred at around midnight at Auma Bar – located in the northern part of the city.

Tensions reportedly started to rise when Chaulet’s female acquaintance allegedly got involved in an argument with a woman who was accompanying the police officer.

It has since been claimed that the incident developed after a gun was drawn.

It is not clear who fired the first shot.

However, the outlet does state that Chaulet reportedly shot the police officer in the groin.

Although, it is unknown if he did this with his own gun or used the officer’s weapon.

Shortly after, the MMA fighter was allegedly shot in the back, while his female acquaintance was also shot in the stomach.

Despite being injured, it has been reported that the mixed martial artist attempted to flee the scene in his Mercedes-Benz C 250.

He managed to drive the vehicle to Rua Almirante Barroso until he crashed the car into a Fiat Palio – where he died at the scene from his injuries.

Both the woman and the police officer were rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries, though it has since been reported that both have survived the incident.

The management company Team Goat Management represented Chaulet and it has since paid tribute to its client.

An Instagram statement reads: “Unfortunately, today we lost another great person, [a] victim of the brutal violence in Brazil that is repeated every day.

“You were special and will never be forgotten for us! RIP Mauro Chaulet.”

Fans have also paid tribute to Chaulet, as one says: “My condolences, rest in peace warrior.”

Someone else writes: “I still don’t believe it bro! You’ll be missed a lot. I love you, brother. See you in the future.”

A third person comments: “Rest in peace champion. May God comfort the family members.”

While another adds: “Rest in Peace! May God comfort the heart of your son and family.”

“Go in peace brother You were a humble guy with a huge heart. Great teacher and friend to all,” a fifth adds.
