Iran Threatens Attack On US Mainland As FBI Issues Warning
The FBI has warned American citizens that Iran is threatening an attack on one state in particular.
The warning comes as the US military continues to bombard Iran with missiles as the war between the countries enters its third week.
The war in Iran continues
US President Donald Trump may believe there is ‘practically nothing left to target’ in Iran, such is the level of decimation American and Israeli missile attacks have brought upon the country over the last two weeks, but the threat of severe retaliation is still very prominent.
During a brief phone conversation with Axios, Trump said of the current military operations involving Iran: “Little this and that… Any time I want it to end, it will end.
“The war is going great. We are way ahead of the timetable. We have done more damage than we thought possible, even in the original six-week period. They were after the rest of the Middle East.
“They are paying for 47 years of death and destruction they caused. This is payback. They will not get off that easy.”
Trump has repeatedly claimed Operation Epic Fury would last roughly a month before realizing the ambitions he had set out to achieve with the bombing campaign, which has seen over 1,300 Iranian civilians killed at the time of writing, according to Iran’s U.N. Ambassador Amir Saeid Iravani, per Reuters.

In addition to Trump’s claims, CENTCOM commander Admiral Brad Cooper said in a video message Wednesday (March 11) that the operations were designed to ‘eliminate Iran’s ability to project power and harass shipping in the strait.’
Admiral Cooper said during the message: “U.S. forces continue delivering devastating combat power against the Iranian regime. U.S. combat power is building, Iran’s combat power is declining.”
Iran attack would be first on American territory since Pearl Harbour
If Iran were to retaliate with an attack on US soil, it would be the first foreign military to carry out such an operation since Japan bombed Pearl Harbour in 1941, during the Second World War.
The Japanese attack targeted a US military base in Hawaii, killing 2,400 Americans in the process. It was this attack that triggered the US’s entry into World War Two.
While attacks have been carried out on the US mainland multiple times since then, most notably the September 11 attacks in 2001, which saw over 3,000 Americans killed, they have never been carried out by another nation, but rather by terrorist organizations.
Al-Quaeda were responsible for the 9/11 attacks, which saw two passenger planes hijacked and flown into two of the World Trade Center towers in Manhattan, New York.
Another plane was flown into the Pentagon, while another saw the hijackers overwhelmed by passengers on board. The fourth plane, United Airlines Flight 93, however, still crash landed in a field in Pennsylvania, killing all 44 people on board.
What state has been warned of an Iranian attack?
The FBI has shared intelligence with police departments, claiming a counterstrike by Iran could happen on US soil.
Iran has already used drones to launch attacks on neighboring countries during the current war, with American and Israeli military bases being targeted, as well as the US embassy in Saudi Arabia and Dubai airport.
But now, the FBI has claimed the Iranian military may use their drones to conduct attacks on the US mainland.
Police departments in California have been warned that their state is reportedly a priority target for Iran.

An alert received by ABC News read: “We recently acquired information that as of early February 2026, Iran allegedly aspired to conduct a surprise attack using unmanned aerial vehicles from an unidentified vessel off the coast of the United State Homeland, specifically against unspecified targets in California, in the event that the US conducted strikes against Iran.
“We have no additional information on the timing, method, target, or perpetrators of this alleged attack.”
A spokeswoman for the FBI office in California has so far refused to comment on the warning, while the White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
In response to the warnings, California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s office told ABC News: “The Governor’s Office of Emergency Services is actively working with state, local and federal security officials to protect our communities.”
Additionally, the LA Sheriff’s Department said that ‘in light of current global events’ it is ‘maintaining an elevated level of readiness.’
“Out of an abundance of caution, and in recognition of current religious observances, the Department has continued increased patrols around places of worship, cultural institutions, and other prominent locations throughout the County,” the Sheriff’s Department said in a statement.
