Olympian Alica Schmidt says she doesn’t understand being dubbed the ‘world’s sexiest athlete’.
The German track and field star was given the title by Australian magazine Busted Coverage but has said that it hasn’t gone to her head, as ‘sports comes first’.
She explained: “I do not know why I got this title. Sport comes clearly first.

“There are thousands of girls on Instagram who look good and still do not have as many fans.”
The 22-year-old has even admitted that she’s turned down offers from Playboy magazine, as she needed to prepare for the Olympics.
However, Schmidt does represent the fashion brand Puma and when asked by the chain to define the word ‘great,’ she responded: “To me, it means being kind and being humble.
“Cherish other people’s success instead of being jealous of what they have accomplished. Your values, beliefs and expectations form your attitude. Bring on everything ahead and set your standards high.”

It wasn’t until 2017 that Schmidt got her big break at the European Athletics U20 Championships, reports the Mirror.
At the event, she helped Germany in getting silver in the 4x400m relay.
Two years later, at the same championships, she moved onto the under 23 sides and in the end, Germany came third.
Outside the world of sports, Schmidt has accumulated quite the social media following and now boasts of 2million followers on Instagram.
