Paul Rudd, aged 52, has officially been named People magazine’s ‘Sexiest Man Alive,’ and his fans couldn’t agree more.

The Ant-Man star, who is often praised for his youthful appearance, has apparently been left gobsmacked by the title and has insisted ‘many people’ should have been given it before him.

After hearing the news, he told People: “I do have an awareness, enough to know that when people hear that I’d be picked for this, they would say, ‘What?’.

“This is not false humility. There are so many people that should get this before me.”

Hilariously, he then added: “I mean I’m going to lean into it hard. I’m going to own this. I’m not going to try to be like ‘Oh, I’m so modest’. I’m getting business cards made. But all of my friends will destroy me and I expect them to. And that’s why they’re my friends.”

Although Rudd may be shocked by the news, his fans are not and have taken to social media to celebrate.

One fan commented: “For years Paul Rudd was robbed of the ‘Sexiest Man Alive’ title and I’m so excited that it is HIS TIME.”

Another added: “Everything’s right with the world after seeing Paul Rudd has been named ‘Sexiest Man Alive’.”

“Paul Rudd being named the ‘Sexiest Man Alive’ is something I didn’t know I needed till now. I dig it,” a third pitched in.

However, not everyone was in agreement that the actor was the right choice for such a highly-regarded title.

One Twitter user questioned: “Ryan Reynolds and Parker McCollum exist and Paul Rudd wins? Oof.”

In agreement, a second commented: “Paul Rudd won ‘Sexiest Man Alive’ but everyone was talking about it being Chris Evans so it’s a mess.”
