A Russian influencer showed herself breaking down into tears over the country’s Instagram ban amid the war against Ukraine.

Olga Buzova, who has a whopping 23.3million followers on the social media platform, shared a seven-minute clip of herself becoming emotional in the countdown to the ban, which reportedly begins from March 13.

According to English translation, she captioned the post: “I love you. Sorry for the emotions… but you loved me like that… and I wanted to tell you again: THANK YOU.”

In the clip, she reportedly went on to say that Instagram has been a place where she can open up her ‘soul,’ adding that it feels like a ‘big part of her heart’ is being taken away.

In Russian, Buzova reportedly said: “I am not afraid of admitting that I do not want to lose you.

“I do not know what the future holds. I don’t know.

“I just shared my life, my work, and my soul. I did not do this all as a job for me, this is a part of my soul. It feels like a big part of my heart, and my life is being taken away from me.”

At the end of the clip, the influencer apparently said she would be going to continue ‘crying’ off-camera.

Russia’s ban on Meta’s platforms, including Facebook and Instagram, was announced last week, after the country branded the networks ‘extremist organisations’.

Russia’s Investigative Committee reportedly stated: “A criminal case has been initiated, in connection with illegal calls for murder and violence against citizens of the Russian Federation by employees of the American company Meta, which owns the social networks Facebook and Instagram.”

It’s believed that Russians who continue to use the sites will be prosecuted under the same laws that prosecute ISIS terrorists.
