Sam Smith has made their red carpet debut with their ‘sexy’ new boyfriend.
Smith, 31, is no stranger to the headlines – they’ve previously been criticised for their ‘satanic’ performance at the Grammys and the outfit they wore at the Brits.
But now, it’s the ‘Latch’ singer’s love life that has everyone talking.
Smith stepped out on the red carpet with their new boyfriend and the internet is going wild for it.

Beyond their musical talents, Smith has emerged as a vocal advocate for LGBTQ+ rights and mental health awareness.
They came out as non-binary in 2019 and changed their pronouns to they/them.
The ‘Stay With Me’ singer took to X (formerly Twitter) and penned (via BBC): “After a lifetime of being at war with my gender I’ve decided to embrace myself for who I am, inside and out.”
Smith added: “I’ve been very nervous about announcing this because I care too much about what people think.”
The ‘Dancing with a Stranger’ artist has had numerous relationships over the years.
In an interview with The Sun, Smith said: “I love people and whoever I fall for, that’s who I fall for. I don’t know who that’s going to be.
“Now I don’t know what gender they will be, to be quite honest, and that’s a freeing thing – to not be limited to one category of person. I just fall in love with whoever I fall in love with.”
Smith previously had a public relationship with 13 Reasons Why star Brandon Flynn.
“Brandon was wonderful,” the pop star told The Times. “I’m still trying to figure out what I took from that relationship and what it meant to me. It’s still quite raw.”
They’ve also been linked to TOWIE‘s Charlie King and Hollyoaks star Andy Newton Lee, as per OK! Magazine.
And now, Smith has made their new relationship official with a red carpet debut at the Met Gala.
People are absolutely loving the match, with one writing: “Gorgeous! Such a classic and classy look. You both look amazing.”
A second adds: “What a beautiful picture of Sam and partner. Speaks volumes. Love it.”
“They look good together,” comments another.
Alongside crying emojis, a fourth person gushes: “So cute.”
Smith appeared at the 2024 Met Gala with their partner Christian Cowan – the pair have reportedly been dating since 2023.
British designer Cowan, 27, has dressed celebrities such as Jennifer Lopez and Miley Cyrus. He’s based in New York City, where he runs a fashion label, as per Style.
At the Met Gala, the couple turned heads in coordinated black and white suits, with Smith adding a touch of flair by wearing a black tulle skirt underneath their suit jacket.
Cowan explained the inspiration behind their attire when speaking to Vogue’s red carpet co-hosts, Ashley Graham and Gwendoline Christie.
He cited influences from the 1940s era and paid homage to queer icon Oscar Wilde.
“Because it’s supposed to be about back in time, we wanted to reference the 1940s, Oscar Wilde — a queer icon,” Cowan shared, per Page Six. “We’re both queer and British so an English rose, I thought was perfect.”
Body language expert Judi James tells the Mirror that the couple appear infatuated with each other.
She explains: “Sam’s expression as they gaze at their boyfriend’s face looks playful as well as happy and it is sweet that they produce a smile for him, rather than one that is just aimed at the cameras.”
It appears it’s not just Smith who is smitten with Cowan – as people are also taking to social media and gushing over the designer.
Smith has uploaded a photo from the night of their red carpet debut on Instagram and followers have flooded the comments.
One fan writes: “Christian I love your art, you’re sexy, love your outfit you look good in it.”
Another adds: “Lookin like a whole snack,” alongside a love heart eye emoji.
“Sexiest man alive!!!” insists a third.
