Sean Lock fans want the comedian’s ‘hilarious’ obituary request to be honoured following his tragic death.

Many clips of the comedian have been doing the rounds on social media ever since it was confirmed he passed away after a battle with cancer.

In one bit of footage, taken from Cats Does Countdown, host Jimmy Carr asks the comedian what he would want his obituary to say.

“I don’t care, I’ll be dead,” he replies.

He adds: “Ideally I’d like it to say… Nooooo, why? Noooo, argh!”

He then turns to Carr and says: “You can’t write tears, Jimmy.”

After watching the clip, one fan penned: “I don’t know, but at this point, he may have been the only one in the room who knew how close, or likely in the near future, this may have been. Very sad. Also, he was hilarious.”

Sean Lock’s death was confirmed by a representative from Off The Kerb Productions.

The statement read: “It is with great sadness that we have to announce the death of Sean Lock.

“He died at home from cancer, surrounded by his family. Sean was one of Britain’s finest comedians, his boundless creativity, lightning wit and the absurdist brilliance of his work, marked him out as a unique voice in British comedy.

“Sean was also a cherished husband and father to three children. Sean will be sorely missed by all that knew him.”

Many celebrities have paid tribute to him on social media.

Fellow funnyman Bill Bailey said: “It’s heartbreaking to lose my dearest friend Sean Lock, he was a true original, a wonderful comic. All my thoughts are with his family.”

Actor and comedian Ricky Gervais also commented: “Such sad news. RIP the great Sean Lock. One of the funniest, most influential comedians of a generation. A Lovely man.”
