The Marvels trailer is being flooded with hundreds and thousands of dislikes since its release on YouTube.

The upcoming film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is a sequel to the 2019 film Captain Marvel starring Brie Larson.

Joining her and Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) in their next adventure is Ms Marvel (Iman Vellani) and Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) – who made their debuts in the Disney+ shows Wandavision and Ms. Marvel.

The first trailer for the movie has dropped, but it seems not everyone is impressed.

The Marvels is set after the events of the post-credits scene in Ms. Marvel which showed Kamala (Ms Marvel) seemingly swapping places with Carol (Captain Marvel).

The trailer indicates that Rambeau is involved with all the body swapping too – which only happens when they use their powers.

The footage teases a fun team-up movie with some space-hopping action sequences.

But it seems that not everyone is excited about The Marvels and it has gone on to become the most disliked Marvel trailer on YouTube.

It has been viewed 15 million times but 457,000 viewers have disliked it against 441,000 who have liked the footage – as of April 14.

Despite the number of dislikes it has received, Marvel fans have come out to defend the trailer on social media.

One person comments: “Imagine having so little going on in your life you spend time focusing on movies you DON’T like.

“I’ll stick to focusing on movies I do like.”

Someone else adds: “It looks great! I’m betting half the negative comments are made by people who haven’t even read the comments and the other half from bots!”

A third viewer pens: “To anyone who spammed dislike, f*** off, this trailer slaps and the hate is so forced.”

The Marvels already being dislike bombed on YouTube when it actually looks like a good fun adventure with a good cast,” says another fan.

A fifth viewer explains: “If you made it your whole personality to dislike Captain Marvel this much, you live a sad joyless existence.”

For some reason, Larson has faced significant backlash ever since she was cast as the superhero.

Captain Marvel was review bombed and holds a 45 per cent audience score on Rotten Tomatoes – despite critics giving it a 79 per cent rating.

Although, the efforts of those hoping for the film to fail must of been left disappointed when it ended up grossing $1.131 billion at the box office – making it the 10th highest-grossing film in the MCU.

The Marvels will come out exclusively in cinemas on November 10, 2023.
