A psychic sparked panic after claiming that thousands of football fans would be abducted by aliens during a live World Cup match.

The bizarre prediction quickly went viral ahead of Brazil’s clash with Scotland at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium, with millions tuning in to see whether anything unusual would happen.

Spoiler alert: humanity survived.

The chilling prediction went viral before kickoff

As the 2026 FIFA World Cup got underway across North America, fans were busy debating who would lift the trophy.

Some trusted statistics. Others believed mathematicians.

But one Brazilian psychic made perhaps the wildest prediction of the tournament.

Vó Bahiana, a Brazilian spiritualist with more than 23 million followers on social media, claimed she had experienced the same terrifying dream twice.

According to her, Brazil’s group-stage match against Scotland on June 24 would end not with a final whistle, but with an alien invasion.

She claimed UFOs would descend on the stadium

In an emotional video shared online, Bahiana described watching enormous spacecraft appear above Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium, per Hello.

“Guys, I have to tell you that I dreamed again about aliens invading the soccer field in Miami,” she said.

“And I clearly saw the players being carried off by the first ship that arrived. I was inside that ship.”

According to Bahiana, things only became more frightening from there.

“When the ship rose, the mothership arrived, a much larger ship, and took in thousands of people from the soccer field.”

She described scenes of “so much screaming, so much crying, so many tears, suffering.”

“I have to tell you that I am very terrified because it is the second time I am dreaming about this.”

Bahiana went even further during later interviews, claiming she had seen multiple types of extraterrestrials.

She alleged one enormous spacecraft used giant mechanical arms to capture players before transporting them inside.

A second vessel, she claimed, contained “Reptilians”—humanoid creatures frequently referenced in UFO folklore and conspiracy theories.

“They had a frightening appearance and seemed to take pleasure in observing people,” she claimed.

“They captured hundreds of people and took them inside their ship.”

The prediction rapidly spread across social media, where many joked about whether Neymar or the referee would be abducted first.

Her followers believed she could be right

Despite the extraordinary claims, Bahiana has built a huge online audience over the years.

Supporters believe she has previously predicted major events, including natural disasters and the deaths of Brazilian celebrities.

Critics, however, point out that several of her predictions have failed to materialize—including warnings about a devastating tsunami hitting Brazil.

Like many self-described psychics, her record remains heavily disputed.

Importantly, there has never been any credible evidence supporting claims that extraterrestrials planned to target the World Cup.

The internet couldn’t stop joking

As the prediction spread around the world, football fans leaned into the absurdity.

Memes flooded X, TikTok and Instagram imagining UFOs hovering above the stadium.

Some joked Scotland might finally have found a way to stop Brazil’s attack.

Others wondered whether FIFA had an official protocol for alien invasions.

The story became one of the strangest talking points of the tournament despite having nothing to do with football itself.

The prediction became so widespread that official accounts began poking fun at it.

Miami International Airport shared an AI-generated image featuring a spaceship above the city alongside a parody announcement about “unusual aerial activity.”

The airport made clear the post was a joke by labelling it as parody.

Meanwhile, Hard Rock Stadium also reassured supporters with a tongue-in-cheek social media update confirming there were “no signs of aliens” before kickoff.

Then the match finally arrived

On June 24, thousands of fans packed into Hard Rock Stadium expecting an entertaining World Cup clash.

Some had even jokingly wondered whether Bahiana’s prediction would somehow come true.

Instead, the only things flying through the air were footballs.

No UFOs appeared above Miami. No players vanished. No fans were abducted. No reptilian visitors interrupted proceedings.

The match went ahead entirely normally, with Brazil defeating Scotland 3-0.=

Once the final whistle blew without extraterrestrial intervention, fans immediately began joking online.

“Neymar survived the alien abduction,” one person laughed.

Another joked: “More shocking than the scheduled alien invasion.”

Many admitted they’d secretly checked the sky during the match—just in case.

Others thanked humanity for making it through another predicted apocalypse.

While Bahiana’s prediction proved completely unfounded, it tapped into something that has fascinated people for decades.

Public interest in UFOs has grown significantly in recent years following the release of declassified government files concerning unidentified aerial phenomena.

However, despite ongoing investigations into unexplained sightings, there remains no verified evidence that extraterrestrial life has visited Earth, or plans to interrupt football matches.

Still, for a few days, one of the biggest stories surrounding the World Cup wasn’t about tactics, transfers or trophies.

It was whether aliens were about to make their sporting debut.

Thankfully for everyone inside Hard Rock Stadium, the only invaders on the day were Brazil’s forwards.
