Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? viewers have slammed the show over an ‘easy question’.

Comedian Meera Syal recently appeared on the ITV programme hoping to win some cash for her charity of choice, Alzheimer’s Society.

At first, the 60-year-old seemed to be doing well.

However, when it came to the £16,000 question, Syal was asked: “The word ‘ursine’ refers to which animal?”

She could choose from the options of wolf, cow, bear, or sheep.

Hesitant on which to choose, Syal admitted that she was considering using the 50/50 or the lifeline.

She said: “I’m don’t want to have to waste a 50/50 on this. I think it’s bear…Or it is wolf?”

Determined to get through to the next round, the comedian ended up choosing her 50/50, which revealed the answer was either cow or bear.

After being given the hint, Syal answered: “I’m pretty sure it’s bear. C. Final answer.”

Jeremy Clarkson then revealed that the celebrity was correct. However, viewers at home said Syal ‘wasted’ the lifeline on such an ‘easy question’.

One person said: “Shouldn’t have wasted your 50/50.”

In agreement, a second commented: “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? is too easy. I’d make easy money here.”

“I’m watching #WhoWantsToBeAMillionaire and wondering if I’m suddenly quite clever or if the questions are getting easier? @ITV,” a third questioned.

A fourth added: “Can’t believe she’s getting such an easy question for 16k and wasting lifelines.”

Towards the end of the show, Syal won a whopping £62,000, which was donated to her charity of choice.
