Anonymous, who recently ‘hacked into Russia’s TV broadcasts,’ has come up with a ‘genius’ plan to let the country’s people know what’s really happening in Ukraine.

The computer experts took to Twitter on February 28 and told their followers that people should search for Russian restaurants and businesses and leave ‘reviews’.

The tweet explained: “Go to Google Maps. Go to Russia. Find a restaurant or business and write a review.

“When you write the review explain what is happening in Ukraine.”

The hackers added a follow-up message for people to write in their reviews – which reads in Russian.

It translates as: “The food was great! Unfortunately, Putin spoiled our appetites by invading Ukraine. Stand up to your dictator, stop killing innocent people!

“Your government is lying to you. Get up!”

Many people have taken to the comments and also shared words of advice, including to make sure it’s a ‘five-star’ review – unless it’s Russia state-owned.

One tweeted: “Make sure to put 5 stars. The point is to spread information, not to ruin their business (many are family-owned/small businesses).”

Another added: “Leave 5-star reviews (unless it’s Russian State-owned, then feel free to leave 1-star ratings).”

“I think you should mention to mark the review as 5 stars to not be accepted by Russians as an aggressive attack,” a third wrote. “It should be inspiring for action.”

Last month, Anonymous took to social media and declared a ‘cyber war’ against Russia.

On February 24, they tweeted: “The Anonymous collective is officially in cyber war against the Russian government.”
