Bruce Willis’ wife, five children and ex-wife Demi Moore have posed for a rare family photo together after giving a sad update on his health.

The Hollywood legend, 67, has starred in hit films such as Die HardPulp FictionThe Sixth Sense and Armageddon.

But in his recent movies, crew members began raising concerns regarding the actor’s health.

According to the Los Angeles Times, those who worked with Willis noticed that he would seemingly appear confused on set and not understand why he was there.

People around him also noticed that was receiving his lines through an earpiece.

It was then revealed by his family that Willis was retiring from acting after he was diagnosed with aphasia. 

The disorder affects how you communicate and it is caused by damage to parts of the brain responsible for understanding and producing language.

It can also impact your reading, listening, speaking, typing or writing.

Since getting diagnosed, the Die Hard star has kept a low profile, with family members sharing occasional snaps of the actor.

Moore, who was married to Willis from 1987 to 2000, has now shared a photo on her Instagram of herself with him and his current wife Emma Heming, along with his five children.

The post shows the whole family posing in front of a Christmas tree with the caption: “We are FAMILY!! Getting into the holiday spirit!”

The news of Willis retiring from acting broke in March when his daughter, Rumer, shared an Instagram post.

Accompanied by a photo of the Unbreakable actor, the post read: “To Bruce’s amazing supporters, as a family, we wanted to share that our beloved Bruce has been experiencing some health issues and has recently been diagnosed with aphasia, which is impacting his cognitive abilities.

“As a result of this and with much consideration, Bruce is stepping away from the career that has meant so much to him.”

The post was signed off by Willis’ wife Emma, his ex-wife Demi Moore, and his children.

While details about Willis’ health have been largely kept quiet, a source close to the family did give an update as Christmas approaches.

Speaking to RadarOnline, the source revealed that the family are praying for a ‘holiday miracle’.

They explained: “There are days when they see glimpses of the old Bruce, but they are brief and far between.

“It seems he’s slipping further away from them, and it breaks their heart.

“With Christmas around the corner, all they can do is tell him they love him and pray for a holiday miracle.”

The source also added that his family are ‘cherishing every moment’ they have with him this Christmas period.

The anonymous source told the outlet: “Demi has been in constant contact with Bruce and Emma.

“She’s taking every opportunity she can to spend time with him. If she’s not there by his side, she’s calling on the phone just so Bruce can hear her voice.”

This comes as co-star and friend Sylvester Stallone admitted that seeing Willis going through a health battle is ‘killing him’.

The Rocky legend said: “Bruce is going through some really, really difficult times.

“So he’s been sort of incommunicado. That kills me. It’s so sad.”
