Anne-Marie Welcomes Baby Boy With ‘Worst Name Ever’
Singer Anne-Marie has revealed the name of her baby boy, but some have branded it the ‘worst celebrity baby name’ yet.
If there’s one thing celebrities are well-known for, it’s choosing incredibly unique, some might say obscure, names for their little ones.
Influencer Trisha Paytas is one of the most well-known for the above, after naming her children Malibu Barbie, Elvis, and Aquaman Moses.
But she’s absolutely not alone.
Kim Kardashian was one of the first to hop on the trend in 2013, naming her first-born daughter North West, now 12 years old.
Others include Apple, the child of Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin, Audio, Shannyn Sossamon’s son, Blue Ivy, Beyonce and Jay-Z’s daughter, but the list is quite endless.
Celebrity baby names have become such a talking point that users online were flabbergasted to learn that Justin and Hailey Bieber had gone with sweet and simple ‘Jack’ for their son, who was born just last year.
Now singer Anne-Marie is the latest to reveal the rather unique name she has given her baby boy, who she welcomed into the world earlier this year in May.
The infant is her second child with husband and fellow musician Slowthai, and the name in question has quite an interesting meaning behind it.
The chart-topper, who is best known for hits including ‘Rockabye’ and ‘Ciao Adios,’ took to This Morning‘s sofa to open up about motherhood.
The popstar revealed that her second pregnancy was ‘not planned,’ but that she couldn’t wait to expand her family.
The presenters quizzed the 34-year-old on the name of her newborn, after she recently teased it on the Capital radio breakfast show.
“Do you want to know?” Anne-Marie asked the eagerly awaiting duo.
The singer revealed that her son is called Forever Sugar, which has sparked some backlash from people online.
Speaking on the popular TV show, she said: “His name is Forever. Forever Sugar.
“Sugar is his middle name, because I had the diabetes thing that you get when you’re pregnant… so I thought ‘What a perfect middle name.'”
Users have been quick to call out what has been branded a ‘ridiculous’ name choice.
One said: “Calling your kid Forever Sugar is definitely going to get its head flushed down the bog at school.”
Another added: “Forever? Poor little kid.”
“This must be a joke right?” a third asked.
While a fourth noted: “And when the child grows up, his story will be like ‘I got bullied in school cos of my name,’ what kind of name is Forever Sugar?”
But others defended the name, as one said: “That’s actually sweet in its own way, meaningful name with a real story behind it.”
Another added: “Wishing them both health and happiness.”
