Billy Ray Cyrus Confirms Engagement To Woman Younger Than His Daughter
Billy Ray Cyrus has confirmed his engagement to a woman younger than his daughter.
‘Achy Breaky Heart’ hitmaker Billy Ray, 61, starred in the Disney Channel sitcom Hannah Montana with his pop star daughter, Miley Cyrus, 29, between 2006 and 2011.
Earlier this year, Billy Ray’s wife of 28 years, Tish, filed for divorce – noting that the pair hadn’t lived together in over two years.
However, the ‘Old Town Road’ star has wasted no time in moving on.

In recent months, rumours have swirled about his alleged romance with Australian singer-songwriter Firerose.
Cyrus has now confirmed that he is now engaged to the 34-year-old – who is around a year younger than his eldest daughter Brandi, 35.
Billy Ray is also father to son Christopher Cody with ex-girlfriend Kristin Luckey, 30, and shares daughters Miley, Brandi, Noah, 22, and sons Trace, 33, and Braison, 28, with Tish, 55.
Billy Ray and Firerose first met 12 years ago on the set of Hannah Montana, where the former actor would ‘take breaks on the lot’ with his late German Shepherd, Tex.

The two kept in touch, with Firerose describing their friendship as ‘so solid over the years’.
Cyrus said that moving on after he and Tish finalised their divorce ‘took a lot of prayer’, and he then asked Firerose if they could be ‘more than friends’.
He told People magazine: “There was sickness and death, and hard times [during the Covid-19 pandemic].
“All of a sudden, the life that I’ve always known as a touring artist didn’t exist anymore.
“A moment of so much change. And at the same time, Firerose, who had been such a light of positivity, such a best friend.
“And then when we began sharing the music, it just evolved more into, as musical soulmates, to soulmates, happy, pure love, that to me I didn’t know could exist.
“Again, we’re musicians, first and foremost, both of us. And we found this harmony, and this rhythm, this melody to life.”
In the joint interview, Firerose opened up about her new diamond ring and Billy Ray’s intimate proposal, which she said was a ‘beautiful moment’.

She recalled: “It was really just this moment where Billy looked at me and said ‘Do you wanna marry me?’.
“He didn’t get down on one knee or anything. He said, ‘I love you. I wanna make this official. I wanna be with you forever’.”
Billy Ray said his family was prepared to see him enter a new relationship and that there were ‘no hard feelings’ – following rumours of unrest among his children over the new couple’s age gap.
He said: “Everyone knew that that relationship [with Tish] was over a long time ago.
“Everybody’s turning the page. It’s been a lot, but everyone knew that it was time for a change.”
