Sinéad O’Connor Has Died Aged 56
Sinéad O’Connor has tragically died aged 56.
O’Connor – who went by the name Shuhada’ Sadaqat after converting to Islam in 2018 – was an Irish singer and musician.
She rose to fame in the late 1980s and was best known for the song ‘Nothing Compares 2 U’ – a power ballad originally written by Prince.

Devastatingly, it has been confirmed that the ‘Drink Before the War’ singer has passed away just months after the tragic death of her 17-year-old son.
In an emotional statement to RTÉ, O’Connor’s family said: “It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Sinéad.
“Her family and friends are devastated and have requested privacy at this very difficult time.”
According to The Irish Times, the ‘I Want Your’ singer died on Wednesday – no further details were disclosed.
At the time of writing, O’Connor’s cause of death is yet to be revealed.
Many of the singer’s fans have taken to Twitter and paid tribute, with one person writing: “Powerhouse of a singer. A beautiful person. A true icon who stood up for what she believed in and called out those who did wrong. Rest in peace, Sinéad O’ Connor.”
Another adds: “Rest in peace to Sinéad O’ Connor, one of the most beautiful musical voices to come out of our country and an even more incredible voice as an advocate for change.
“She will forever be missed.”

In her final social media post, the musician shared an image of her late child and penned: “Been living as undead night creature since.
“He was the love of my life, the lamp of my soul. We were one soul in two halves.
“He was the only person who ever loved me unconditionally. I am lost in the bardo without him.”
Following the loss of her son, O’Connor’s management team released a statement that said she would be cancelling all her scheduled gigs and would not be performing for the rest of the year.

At the time, her management team wrote: “We would like to respectfully announce that due to continuing grief over the tragic loss of her beloved son Shane earlier this year, Sinéad O’Connor will not be performing live in 2022.
“Thank you to Sinéad’s friends and fans whose support and understanding we hold in the highest esteem throughout this period.
“The love being shown has been a source of great comfort and peace for Sinéad.”
