Sinéad O’Connor shared a final social media post before her death which was utterly heartbreaking.

The Irish singer was best known for her iconic 1990 single ‘Nothing Compares 2 U’.

The track was an international sensation, topping charts all over the world.

On Wednesday, O’Connor left us at the age of 56, leaving a profound void in the hearts of her fans, friends and loved ones.

And before long, people discovered her heart-wrenching final social media post.

O’Connor spoke out about her son, Shane, who was found dead aged 17 in January 2022.

The news sent shockwaves around the globe.

In a now-deleted tweet from July 17, O’Connor expressed the unbearable pain she had been enduring since Shane’s departure.

She wrote: “Been living as an undead night creature since. He was the love of my life, the lamp of my soul.

“We were one soul in two halves. He was the only person who ever loved me unconditionally. I am lost in the bardo without him.”

O’Connor had previously described Shane as the ‘light of her life’ and shared that he had chosen to end his earthly struggle and find solace with God.

O’Connor expressed aspirations of touring Australia and New Zealand in 2024 and 2025, leaving fans eager for what could have been.

As the news of O’Connor’s departure spread, tributes poured in from all corners of the world.

The Irish band Aslan, with whom she collaborated on ‘Up In Arms’ in 2001, paid their respects, mourning two legends lost so close together.
