Conor McGregor Wants To Buy Manchester United

Conor McGregor, who recently made headlines for telling his three-year-old son to punch another kid, says he wants to buy Manchester United following the Super League scandal.

The MMA fighter recently took to Twitter to ask his followers whether or not they think it would be a good idea.

He wrote: “Hey guys, I’m thinking about buying Manchester United! What do you think?”

So far, the post has received over 390,000 likes and over 52,000 retweets.

One fan responded: “He could pull it off if he wanted to. But Man U would never sell.”

However, not everyone thought the fighter’s plan was very realistic.

“Do you know that the current market price of Manchester United is a bit over $2.5bn and your estimated net worth is between 50 and 120 million? Could it be that you forgot to add the word ‘jersey’ after Manchester United in your tweet,” a person remarked.

Another added: “Clearly he means be a partner or minority owner.”

The offering comes after the Super League competition was proposed.

Andrea Agnelli originally told Italian newspaper la Repubblica that it had ‘100 per cent’ chance of happening.

He said: “There has been a blood compact between our clubs, the Super League project has a 100 percent chance of success, we will move forward.

“We want to create the best competition in the world capable of benefiting the entire football pyramid, increasing the distribution of resources among the other clubs and remaining open with five places available each year for others, which will be defined through dialogue with the institutions of football.”

He added: “We will stay in domestic competitions, we will play in all the stadiums in Italy, Spain and England. Our work will be intrinsically linked to domestic competitions,” he said, while adding that “the bonus of 350 million [euros] a year is false.”

But the Juventus President has now admitted that this couldn’t possibly happen after such a severe backlash.

Manchester United net worth

Forbes valued Manchester United at £3.05.billion in April 2021. This would make it the fourth most valuable club in the world.

However, McGregor is worth an estimated £100million, according to Talksport.

So although he probably couldn’t buy the football club, he could definitely team up with a second party and become the face of it.
