A woman on TikTok has gone viral after admitting she ‘does not tip at a drive-thru,’ which has caused a massive debate.

The TikToker, who goes by the username @chelsea.t_, posted a video of herself pretending to select the ‘No tip’ option when at the driveby.

She captioned the post: “Discreetly tapping the ‘no tip’ button when the cashier turns the screen toward you and feeling bad about it even though you have no idea why you should feel obligated to tip someone for handing you the drink you just paid for.”

The video, which has over 41,000 likes, has caused a disagreement in the comment section.

Agreeing with her, one person wrote: “I don’t feel bad. They know it isn’t a job that generally gets tips when they accept the position. If they give you a look just stare right back lol.”

“If you serve me I tip. If I come to the counter/drive-thru and pick up myself… why am I going to tip?” added another.

A third person responded, writing: “I bought baby clothes online from a mass retailer and there is a tip section when you’re checking out your cart! What? Who am I tipping? Why?”

However, some people in the comments disagreed with this and said they feel that tipping is necessary.

One replied: “If you don’t tip your barista or bartender… Sheesh. They’re literally making you something.”

Someone else commented: “Because most restaurants and coffee places don’t pay a full wage and expect it to be covered by what the employees will get from tips.”

“Coffee shops are the one place I will tip. They literally made the drink too. That’s what they’re getting tipped for” added a third person.
